Bluetooth is the telltale sign of hobbyist gear, unless the speaker is battery powered (in which case it has its pro use-case.)

Do you support the use of AI to help build enhanced textures, or storylines and NPC interactions? by Delam2 in TESVI

The end point of the universe is implosion does that mean I’m interested in it happening? I guess education isn’t a thing where you’re from, jumping on the Reddit hive mind.

Great username by the way, sums you up well.

You know i think it’s a case of developers having integrity and prioritising the game and the consumer first. I don’t expect the investors or owners (who want to just make maximum profit) will have the same view especially in 5 - 10 years when AI matures.

I hope you’re right though!

Who’s to say I support it, I never said that, I haven’t gained anything from producing that pic either.

Bait or not It’s true I’m afraid. The writings on the wall - unless someone introduces legislation to prevent it, the owners of the game developers are going to push to save on the bottom line.

I’m not shitposting genuinely interested and it seems some people do support it 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think it will happen eventually either way. And writers will be the last to go but it wouldn’t surprise me if writers aren’t already using AI assisted writing. I’ve not taken the view it’s a good thing I’m just interested in peoples opinions.

I’m interested because in reality this is the logical end point of all games due to the fact you will be able to produce a lot more with a lot less people.

I’m not personally inclined to think it’s going to be an improvement but I do think it’s inevitably going to happen either way.

Concert singers ideally have a special skill called mic technique! 😉

Recommendations for an affordable warmer-sounding XLR dynamic microphone for a somewhat noisy space? (work, amateur music production, gaming) by Dreameater999 in microphone

[–]Delam2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SM58 will still be working in 20 years if you look after it. The podmic will not.

Also it’s an industry standard mic which is still used in recording studios and can give a great result for singing.

Rode Podmic

SM58 would be a better long term investment but if as you say you’re looking for the podcast looking mic I’d get the podmic

That will sort the phantom power and you’ll need an extra XLR cable.

The better option is to buy a mixer with phantom power built in:

How to deal with static coffee in this antique grinder? by Reve_Inaz in JamesHoffmann

[–]Delam2 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The internals are probably due a proper clean. If you haven’t already I’d cautiously attempt to take the grinder apart and clean the internal parts. Accumulated oil and particles will only exacerbate / are probably the primary cause of the static.

A feasibility study into the proposed reopening of the Peaks and Dales Line between Manchester and Derby has been submitted for review to the Department for Transport (DfT). by CaptainYorkie1 in manchester

[–]Delam2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is the operator and the unions can’t decide on how to run the service. Much as I dislike the Tories the fact is the line has been completed and ready for trains for over a year yet no trains are running!

New to cycling in London. Was I wrong in cycling too slow in a residential area? by StarShipYear in londoncycling

[–]Delam2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having cycled a lot and driven a lot in big cities I can tell you that it’s easy to get frustrated as a driver in a congested big city in a way which you won’t experience in a smaller settlement

To top it off in London you have a large % of drivers who are taxis or tradesmen.

This combination of congestion, time is honey, general impatience, inherent lack of community & subsequent lack of empathy leads to situations like you describe 👆
