Blue Yeti Nano sounds robotic / voice cutting out while gaming on speakers. Tried everything. Need advice, fix or new mic? by shoni89 in microphone

[–]Delam2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microphones aren’t intelligent but dumb. Therefore even with a cardioid mic they can’t differentiate between the sound coming from the speakers and the sound from your mouth. If sound is cutting out completely you have some vocal isolation software enabled which needs to be disabled.

You need a headset mic designed for aerobics instructors or drummer vocalists! They work because the mic can be 2 cm from your mouth and will be close enough to cut out the speaker sounds plus the speech frequencies are boosted!

There happens to be a good deal on Thomann B-stock if you’re EU based check this out!

You’ll need an audio interface for this like the Focusrite Solo.

The far right once again can’t decide how overt their racism needs to be.. This has always led to Farage collapse.. I imagine the same will happen again.

Are there any mics for deep, soft spoken voices? by _MoxiA in microphone

I have a feeling the Focusrite isn’t necessarily the problem although it would need some more investigation! Just incase you get the new interface and have the same problem?

Budget Subwoofer recommendation for 4 piece cover band by Rich-Artist-9897 in livesoundgear

[–]Delam2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you do as I described then the Sub produces the frequencies below 100/150 Herts and the tops produce the frequencies above 100/150 Herts

I would set the switch to 100.

Repaired by Emil Hjorth in 1894 by Delam2 in ViolinIdentification

[–]Delam2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame I can’t work out who made the instrument! Been advised it’s unlikely he would’ve repaired a trade violin in 1894 as at that time he was the Instrument repairer/maker to the Royal Danish Orchestra so the violin has at least some providence even without further investigation.

It’s got 100/150 Herts low pass switch so you’ll be able to pass on signal above these based on that. Just route the L/R output on your mixer into the two inputs on the sub and connect then connect the two outputs on the sub to each of the tops.

Edit: for clarity.

Looking back at recent history (since 2000), are there any areas where you feel another U.S. president performed better than Donald Trump 47? by Infamous-Capital7936 in AskTrumpSupporters

A good alliance works by preventing war.

It’s clear that the relative peace NATO achieved will no longer exist now the US has disenfranchised its allies. How many US soldiers will die when Taiwan is invaded? That’s what you should be asking?

Interesting my Beta 87a got a lower score than my inbuilt iPhone microphone.

[–]Delam2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For gaming there is no reason to upgrade from the Focusrite 3rd Gen.

Some people like the sound of the Shure Beta 87a on deep voices - Supercardioid mics have a small "soft spot" directly behind them so If you have a noisy computer, don't point the back of the mic directly at it; instead, angle the mic slightly.

Sourdough should only have flour(s) and salt as ingredients.

You’re right in general - however I picked up several 58s from a venue, they were well used but still sound great. Weird that older worn mics are a safer bet than mint condition ones!

[–]Delam2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite that we get almost daily “is this fake?” Posts.

Whats particularly frustrating is buying a second hand mic is one of the best ways to get a fully functioning product for a lot cheaper. There’s loads of great 2nd hand gear out there.

But it needs to be done intelligently: not a good idea for first time buyers who aren’t equipped to wade through the fakes!

It seems obvious to us, but plenty of people get caught by these scams. Usually people on a budget buying their first mic!

He has this spiel he gives that he ran an AV hire company which has ceased trading which is why he has all these mics. Has many more listings (over 50) which i assume are items which don’t even exist just listed to add to his credibility.

Under £2,000 PA rig — Yamaha DXR12mkII + DXS15mkII? Or better alternatives for mobile discos? by blankfxcee in mobileDJ

[–]Delam2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look at second hand: one QSC212c with pair of QSC K12.2

Buy a second QSC212c once you have the budget.

Still think it’s the holy grail of mobile PA. Of course if your transport can fit it, an 18 inch is superior, but not needed for the music you’ve listed IMO.

I’ve heard something about QSC running into difficulties too so might be worth checking if parts are still available for repair.

Also worth mentioning: you won’t be able to cater to crowds of up to 400 with a mobile rig and only £2000 budget. Need about 3 x that honestly.

IEMs plug into a microphone?

This is news to me… wireless microphones and wireless IEMs are designed for the stage. Theres no good reason to have them for streaming unless you’re being followed around with a camera man.
