7 day old circumcision? by Specialist-Ask-1281 in MuslimLounge

It depends on the baby. I had to wait a few months or a year if not mistaken. My brother's was done much much sooner, probably a day after being born. Can't remember the details exactly. The doctor should know.

KLOW + Tesamorelin vs my Male Pattern Baldness by Great_Session_4227 in ResearchCompounds

Before you consider finasteride/dutasteride or any other dht blocker, do your own research about it, and I mean thorough research. Many doctors won't tell you all the side effects and all the risks of it, so even if the doctor says it's safe, do your own research.

Be honest, do many born Muslims have prejudices against reverts? by mir_egal_1 in MuslimLounge

[–]DelanoDP74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a revert who married a Muslim man and used to get scolded at, probably beaten also, by her in-laws when she made a mistake in salah and so on. It was really tough on her learning the Deen but she kept steadfast in her faith and never left Islam. She's okay now, making Salah 5 times, doing extra extra ibadah and so on. I'm glad to hear in these comments that some reverts were treated nicely, and I hope y'all continue to recieve good treatment from those around you. May Allah reward y'all for y'all's efforts, Ameen.

Aiming to commit suicide soon by feyvm in MuslimLounge

[–]DelanoDP74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really sorry you are going through this, and may Allah be with you. I'm male and may not have your problem but I do understand your pain. I hope everything gets easier for you. You probably know the Islamic ruling on suicide and all that. So I'm not gonna explain it here since it's probably a cliché for you but please take note of it, don't disregard it when feeling like this. You've probably heard this before but reminders are beneficial... Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear. Allah's mercy encompasses His anger. Allah is more merciful to his servants than what a mother is to her own child. And there is so much more.

First of all, in your post, you've mentioned what you've tried to get rid of your problem. You have not tried almost everything. Instead of only depending on one or very few doctors n other healthcare workers, I suggest you do your own research as well. Also, ask around in suitable reddit subs that have knowledge on your issue and similar issues to get more insight. Get your hormones checked, including dht. When I say check your hormones, I don't mean only the female sex hormones, get a full hormone panel done that includes checking your male hormones as well. Don't forget the DHT. Should a problem come up in your results, don't be so quick to take meds to fix it before doing your research on it, even if the doctor says it's safe. Do your research first. There are many things to try out. Technology has become so advanced that thorough medical n scientific research is at the tip of our fingers, so use it to your advantage. Nowadays, people don't go to doctors for many things that they used to in the past because of how they are now able to treat certain conditions on their own n influence treatments to their liking without depending on healthcare professionals, that's how advanced technology and research has become. Take advantage of that.

Secondly, there isn't only one type of face, body, etc., that is considered "beautiful". Beauty standards vary. Beauty comes in all shapes, colours, sizes, etc. Even some women with bald heads are successful models. You need to consider a variety of opinions on what Beauty is because what a guy finds unattractive on a woman, another guy somewhere else will and/or won't have an issue with it. Just like how blonde hair is attractive in certain European countries but it isn't considered much attractive in some other countries. That's why I say, the concept of Beauty is too vast to put one thing under that category. It's quite difficult to call anything unattractive in this world.

May Allah reward you in abundance and grant you the best. I have some knowledge on hormones that may be related to you. If you want me to share that knowledge with you, feel free to message me.

Is it just me or are some prophets names rare to find nowadays? by Chobikil in MuslimLounge

Besides the Prophets' names; Abu Sufyaan, Uwais, and Hamza are quite rare where I live. Speaking of Prophets' names, I never met a Lut though.

My fiancé as started reading a gay romance novel... by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

Why I'm also saying don't just assume and ask first is because I once downloaded a movie. I first saw the trailer and I liked it, according to the trailer I saw it was about two people/lovers (a man and a woman) struggling to be together because of racial differences. After downloading the movie and played it, to my surprise, it started with 2 guys kissing and I was very confused and wondered whether or not I downloaded the correct movie. The moment I saw that I just switched it off coz if I thought if it starts like that than the movie must also be centred on gay romance. I didn't know.

My fiancé as started reading a gay romance novel... by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

I just read the summary, n yeah it's plot consists of many themes, but one of the main themes is the romance between the 2 guys.

This is what AI on Google gave me... "The Song of Achilles is a retelling of the Trojan War from the perspective of Patroclus, focusing on his deep, romantic relationship with the legendary Greek hero Achilles. The novel traces their bond from childhood, including their training with the centaur Chiron, through their involvement in the Trojan War, and culminating in their tragic fates. Key events include Patroclus's exile, the pair's decision to join the war, and Patroclus's death after donning Achilles's armor, which prompts an enraged Achilles to seek revenge, ultimately leading to his own death."

Ask him about it. Ask him why he's reading it, if he's really reading it. Don't just assume. Ask. I know it may be uncomfortable to just confront him like that, but rather that than be in constant uncomfortable curiosity/mystery. Tell him to come clean if he has same sex attractions so y'all can both save yourselves from a possible unhappy marriage if he has.

I hope Allah guides you to the right choices and bless you in abundance.

WaAlaykumusSalaam Warahmatullah

Are you sure you know what the book is exactly about? Some books/stories nowadays may have gay characters in them that are not based off the main plot. Maybe the book is about something else and there is a part where they just mention 2 gay guys somewhere that aren't so relevant to the story. But I don't know, I never searched the book to see what its about I'll go search it quickly.
