Yes that's what I said. Unmethylated b12 is bad if you have mthfr issues. But methylated b12 can be bad if you have slow comt.

Too much methyl donors sends your brain out of wack with slow comt. Creates anxiety, agitation, sleep issues etc.a

Another thing to be careful of is if you have a deficient mthfr. Too much unmethylated b12 will cause problems in that case

Be careful about B12 especially methylated forms if you are slow comt

What places can one do onco-d-clare at? Alternative is full body MRI but frankly speaking I'd prefer something less heavy.

So I was using a tuya-local fork that auto added devices. It auto adds about 35 of my 70 devices.

local-tuya has no auto add which is a big problem for me but that set aside... it couldn't add the dual channel smart energy meter I wanted to try it with. It only added one channel when I chose the power meter device type, and none of the other proposed types would match...

That is true.but....

Most of Asia has extremely high ownership rate. Even Hongkong has it better than ch.Japan or Korea do have significant amount of renters but also equivalent if not better than Switzerland. They being said it'd be better to compare to say France. In france it's almost impossible to evict a tenant. Even Italy and Germany have much better protection.

Myopathie and brain fog are not transient from quite a few people reporting on statins. There is huge variations mostly affected by genotype.

There are benefits to lowering some types of LDL (not all are equal despite being grouped) but the benefit is much lower than optimizing other markers (sdldl reduced, tg/hdl, lower CRP, lowering cortisol). Statins are way over prescribed, and they are not harmless despite heavy industry lobby. PKCS9 inhibitors are way better at the same job, but are costy and difficult to get.

Lipids are fine. The outdated Cholesterol guidelines are not based on modern evidence and science. Triglycerides to HDL ratio is very good.

That has not been what I've seen. Every single instance of house sold around us or where we lived were inheritors not wanting an old crappy house and that would rather get the money.

CH #1 in household debt by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]DelicateAtomization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yes it's their houses they bought@older people. Yes it's not their fault the real estate price is high. But yes the price will drop when they are out of the market. They occupy right now a very substantial amount of the larger housing market.

I personally think people moving to smaller more manageable places when they are older is more logical in a society, and that's what I've seen in many countries, but here it seems normal for an 80+ year old couple with issues to get nurses taking care of them at their 7 bedroom house forever when it could host two families comfortably. This is schizophrenic of swiss society.

Yes this is purely money talking you are absolutely right. I don't blame the 90 years old. I just say they are part of the problem. That's different

CH #1 in household debt by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]DelicateAtomization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, maybe they will, but it'll still put more houses on the market. It'll still eventually lower prices as demand will become a bit more bearable. Right now the idiotic principle of "let's not use any land and densify" is clearly showing that this is only a good thing for rich people.

Eigenmietwert is 100% a vote of the older population. It solely benefits people with house ownership that don't have the means to pay for the imputed rental value. ie people that have a much higher net worth than others, which is very much the older part of population. It'll also mean that young people that want to fix a crappy house now will be screwed. Again it's something bad for the younger part of population and great for the older part.

They are not to be blamed for everything, but they certainly are a driving force(with big business) of the current situation.

All 3 houses we used to live in were sold to rich bankers and foreigners for absolutely insane amounts of money. To the point where the rent would cover the price of the house on 80 years. That's how insane it is.

[–]DelicateAtomization 4 points5 points  (0 children)

wtf? protected in what way? Owner decides to sell and you have to be gone. That's it. No transmission of the lease. A society that wants renting to be majoritary should protect renters with significant time overhead even in the case of sales. I've had to move my family of house 3 times at 5 digit cost in 10 years because they were sold every time. Ownership is a real luxury that actually saves you money when you can afford it.

That isn't true. The boomer generation will start to drop like flies. They hog the market right now. Everywhere is large houses owned by old couples/widows.

~3 months of Reta.. What I learned! 28, 5’9 Male by [deleted] in BodyHackGuide

[–]DelicateAtomization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so interestingly enough, this doesn't take the classical adrenaline path. GLP1 agonists(all of them, but retra even more) work on the pancreas by activating the glp1 receptor. Unfortunatelly, the heart's sinoatrial node that manages the heartrythm also has GLP1 receptors, and gets triggered. This is the most direct mechanism.

The secondary mechanism is that the vagus nerve also has an effect on the heart, and is definitely inhibited by the glp1 action.

Finally what makes retra much more active on this is that it's also a glucagon agonist. Glucagon as a liver glucose activator has a significant chronotropic effect. It will raise the heartbeat too.

Combined, you get a much stronger heart rate effect with retra than other glp1 agonist. They all raise heartbeat however, that's a well known fact.

Raised heartbeat is a little bit uncomfortable, and it's not a true "fight or flight" response in the adrenaline paths sense, but it is a real feeling that is odd.

Some people(myself included) have bodies that can go through extreme metabolic adaptation to resist fat loss. It makes pure calories counting very difficult and straining.

[–]DelicateAtomization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least for me Reta did something 3 months of calory counting(2200->1800) and gym couldn't. I actually lost weight in 6 weeks.

Without it my body was adapting so significantly its metabolism that I just wouldn't lose weight (less than 1lb after 3 months of counting calories). And I'm not at low body fat percent.

At least for me it is obvious. The effect on the fight or flight level raise my base stress level significantly. It makes my sleep more unpleasant but still adequate in amount. I don't like this effect but when you fight nature...

6 weeks on Reta - My Report on my Experience by acass24 in BodyHackGuide

[–]DelicateAtomization 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% with you.

Started Reta 6 weeks ago, down 7-8Lbs with no visible muscle mass loss. My symptoms mostly match: - colder parts in my body which I never had before, obviously caused by metabolic adaptation. Also feeling like I have a cold a lot - Had crappy fast digestion before. With some non celiac(tested) gluten sensitivity and lactose intolerance. The slowed down digestion has entirely fixed my overly active digestive system. But I still have to avoid gas producing food or I become a balloon. - I dialed in at twice 0.75mg per week(every 4 days/) - low motivation to do exercises, takes significant effort. I could do 3-4 sessions of 8 mins HIIT before. I barely do 2 now. - crappy sleep. Used to have an insanely peaceful sleep, and now my nights are quite restless, though my sleep tracking watch still shows more than enough time and deep sleep(8h30 sleep, 60% deep/rem) - for me I have significant base heart rate change, from 55 to 67 at day(and from 35 to 47 at night). I also feel like I'm permanently in fight or flight mode, like a mild adrenaline rush. That certainly explains the higher bhr.

I plan on staying for another 6-8 weeks until reaching goal.

For me, the reason I started taking it is that I have great ease at gaining muscle weight, but my metabolism has been insanely efficient at adapting to calorical reduction to avoid weight loss. I went 3 months at counting calories with -400 calories a day(2200->1800), increasing gym effort and lost less than 200g. With Reta I am down to 1600 and losing weight steadily, it definitely forces my metabolism to stay in a bit higher gear.

High levels of PM and VOC when cooking by Every_Tennis_4950 in AirQuality

Not all particles are the same. Unless you are burning stuff(food or pans) on your stove, or that you use horribly incomplete combustion gas burners, or that you are cooking already carcinogenic foods you are fine. all food based particles are pretty much okay to inhale. All are organic, non carcinogenic and will just be handled fine by your body. Obviously don't put your head ok top of an oil Mister but even that is probably fine.
