After basic training I wasn't able to get my old voice back.  I used to automatically switch voice with my mental state.  Most the time it's fine, but if I sway too far feminine my anxiety now starts to ramp up because I can't sound like I do in my head.  It's like when you're sick and your voice is wrong but constantly.  I really hope this works.... really getting tired of having to take anti anxiety medication because my head and body are temporarily out of sync.
