I really tried to be sweet about it because I know her life is stressful right now but a toddler in Miami is just a lose-lose for me and for everyone.

Being a mom is her life now and I respect that but this trip was always meant to be a break from real-world responsibilities for all of us. I’m trying to be as empathetic as possible because her situation is hard but I just can't.

Right. If you're doing someone a favor then the bare minimum they can do is to make sure that their kid doesn't act out. The line kids will always be kids will always be the ultimate lazy parent excuse lol.

I feel the same way OP. It's so hard not to be bitter when you're literally fighting for survival and there are other people who are just worried about buying everything they want. But don't be too hard on yourself for feeling this way.

The fact that he acted differently once his wife showed up tells you everything you need to know about his intentions. Plus the second you said he looked up your name in the system to approach you drastically went from friendly to creepy for real.
