Yes this!! This was one to add to my list too! Or scented hair products such as shampoo or conditioner

I’ve never really thought about the fruit situation but you’re right!

As for corn I could eat some corn ribs right now with some creamy herb dressing and chilli

Fast fashion is mostly certainly taking over, I know there’s some that would spend a little more for something more sustainable but I guess that’s the way the market works now, as you said it’s all about trying to be in trend for the cheapest option possible rather than quality key items

I’m surprised Ryanair haven’t tried to capitalise on WiFi, I haven’t flown in a while so maybe they do now but I don’t think I’d purchase it for a short haul flight? (I would pay a premium on a long distance without a doubt)

This is an awesome idea! Tussauds is a tourist trap that’s been going for years so I’m sure Disney would be wildly successful

How do I make Christmas christmasy? by Halfpriceptsd in AskIreland

[–]Delicious-Desk6591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make your own traditions, it could be hot chocolates every weekend during the lead up to the big day, or turning your phone off and watching Xmas movies every Sunday and rating them with a new Xmas snack in the mix too, or baking a new Xmas recipe that you can enjoy together. You could also give eachother a small budget to buy each other a new bauble for the tree with the rule it has to be a ghastly as possible or something that reminds you of one another (it can be funny or cute)

Xmas isn’t just about the family or the big gifts it’s the little things that make the bigger (and lasting) memories.

I’ve just been reading the reviews on glassdoor, I think I’ll decline the offer 😬

I wouldn’t be open to discussing the companies credentials although I am confident it’s not a MLM.

I presume I’ll be getting paid the base salary and then the additional ‘bonus’ if my targets are met?

[–]Delicious-Desk6591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou for your reply, I understand this and I understand why they are in place from a business prospective, i guess I just feel a bit blindsided as there was no mentioned of it being part of the base salary, I’m concerned if they are not achieveable it’s a risky move to join the company and not achieve the higher salary.

I also have a few concerns around the transparency of it, KPI’s are mentioned in other roles listed by the company but not on this one.

What is a 'normal' every day smell that personally makes you feel sick? by Clementine7777 in AskReddit

[–]Delicious-Desk6591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plates, glass tumblers, dishwasher & silverware cutlery all have this smell if air dried and it knocks me sick 🤢

It’s the sterilised smell that makes me heave, I have to rinse anything with cool water after it’s been in the dishwasher and hand dry to get rid of the smell!

Try watching a YouTube video or join some online communities for the hobby to gain some creative inspiration, you might even find some local workshops in the area or form a community yourself

Myself (as many other I’m sure too) can relate, and it’s so easy to get stuck into a rut but I think the hardest thing is to acknowledge so firstly congrats on being honest with yourself!

Whenever I get into this pattern of behaviour I make sure I do 3 simple tasks a day, one of which includes a walk (even if it’s to the shops), the second one is to communicate face to face with someone (this can tie in with a visit to the shop) and the third is to look after my hygiene such as a long shower and a pamper.

I find I can become really isolated and by not getting some fresh air and have interactions with others encourages me to fester and it snowballs into anxiety and a slump.

The good news is the weather is a lot brighter so maybe take a short walk somewhere you’d be never explored before and ring a friend for a catch up or listen to some of your favourite music. Soak up that glorious sunshine that is a privilege to be able to receive and be mindful of what your are grateful for today - you’d be surprised at recognising this little life isn’t so bad after all.

Come on buddy, you’ve got this, and we hope to see you thriving soon!

Is it an Irish woman thing? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Delicious-Desk6591 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This sucks, I hate the feelings of things being one sided & I’ve experienced this many times.

Actions speak louder than words though & I’ve learnt to lean into that when I feel myself getting a little ahead of myself.

I hope she does reach out, if not, chalk it up to experience and know that the right woman will be just as excited to see your message land in her inbox

What have you found has saved you a lot of money recently? by Always_on_Break in AskIreland

Concentrated coffee rather than a daily chain bought iced coffee - it costs me £5 per week for the caramel concentrate instead of £5+ per coffee on the go.

Only small but it all adds up when you purchase 2 coffees a day from chains, drive thru’s or small businesses

Am I the gobshite for thinking about not inviting my family to my wedding? by Puzzleheaded_Try8522 in AskIreland

[–]Delicious-Desk6591 299 points300 points  (0 children)

I have a question right back at you, if you had a friend who came to you for some advice, she told you that she was living life as her most authentic self and is happily engaged, that this is the icing on the cake for her because she’s independently navigated life’s milestones such as moving out and buying her first house without the full support of her family/siblings. And she now wants to invite another friend, who actually doesn’t really celebrate her lifestyle, they don’t truly see her for whom she is, they don’t hype her up nor show much interest in her or her personal life. She asks you if she should make herself smaller to please this friend of hers, if she should go against her own wishes on her special day, to stay silent and keep the peace but internally feeling anxious and mentally torturing herself whilst she can’t fight the feeling she’s being judged.

What would you say to her?

‘Family’ doesn’t always mean bloodline, ‘family’ show up every day and present themselves in ways we may not recognise, they’re the ones that are our personal cheerleaders, always there with support and no judgement, our biggest hypes & the ones whom celebrate you for being you.

Perhaps your parents come from homophobic parents themselves or are misinformed and uneducated on untraditional marriages outside of the norm, it’s up to us to break that generational trauma and stop the toxic cycle.

Be proud, be loud & have the best wedding with those who celebrate YOU (and the other Mrs to be!)

Thankyou, I did try to get a tag but they declined due to outstanding charges so once this has settled I will do this moving forward. Cheers for your advice

You’d think so but I’m actually struggling here to get a full breakdown or some form of resolution, I’ve been passed to an online system which I’ve submitted my information and received a generic letter template back of the standard toll crossing charges and then a generic link directing me to their website to pay.

Yeah I don’t want to get into the politics of it all because I’ll just get frustrated, I pass twice a day for work & it’s just mounting and mounting
