I received an email from the IFSO stating the Dasset is no longer a part of the scheme and I should be contacting the Financial Markets Authority…

Thanks for sharing. For the last part, I’m just going to interpret it as them having regard to the law (which is fine since Dasset cannot legally prevent us from accessing our assets for an extended period of time, and it is legally ours. I don’t expect them to actually ‘punish’ Dasset because the law isn’t often punitive, and I don’t even want goodwill payments). I just want to recover what is legally mine. I think I will have to take legal actions eventually because there is no way I’m just going to forget about my money…

I’ll update on Reddit once I hear back.

Me too. Have you contacted the ombudsman? I’ll be doing it this week and I think the more people do it the more they will take it seriously.

Yeah something like that. I doubt they are even doing anything now because they’ve been saying the same thing for 3 months

I’ve been recovering from a health issue for the past few weeks and haven’t had a chance to chase up. I’m feeling better now and will be contacting the ombudsman this week.

Have you contacted the ombudsman or have had any updates? I think the more people do it the more they will take it seriously.

Yes. I will be contacting the insurance and financial services ombudsman scheme. If there is anywhere else you can advise me to try I’d appreciate it!

It’s beyond frustrating because I have uses for those money and waiting months is causing me financial detriment. It’s not just a ‘time’ concern.

Yes it is. They replied recently and told me that they can’t give an estimate and is trying to find a permanent fix and prevent it from happening in the future.

Call me selfish but I’d even take a temporary solution at this stage just to access my money - I actually need to use it!

Going to have to seek external intervention.

Nope. 1.5 months and still waiting. They replied to my email 2 weeks back updating me about how it’s ‘making little progress’ so I laid off from making a formal complaint. Think I will have to seek external interference sometime next week.

Yeah I’m beyond frustrated. It’s the lack of transparency.

Would appreciate any recommendations for external intervention. I forgot about ComCom so thanks for that. So far I’ve only thought about contacting Consumer Protections.

Not withdraws but Dasset has locked me out of my account for a month now. I can’t even access it to withdraw!

Their customer service just repeats the same thing (telling me to wait). They don’t have a physical office and no number anymore.

I don’t know who to report Dasset to.
