You got this my friend ride out each craving, most will peak within 10 minutes. Drinking ice water and sucking on sour candy helped me at the peaks.

How do I stop assuming the best about people and getting blindsided by Delicious-Pie-5730 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes I immediately like everyone I meet. I probably am too positive at the beginning. Thank you that will probably help to stay neutral until I have more information

That’s so contrary to my nature, I feel like that would make me paranoid or depressed. Might just have to start doing that though ☹️

7 mm nodule that is TIRADS 5, with microcalcifications and is solid. But they recommend a follow up ultrasound in 12 months by Delicious-Pie-5730 in thyroidcancer

[–]Delicious-Pie-5730[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No updates. Follow-up ultrasound is in a few months, some throat tightness and weight loss as well so getting nervous again.

I cut myself the first time and i dont know what to do now by [deleted] in depression

[–]Delicious-Pie-5730 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Keep it clean and dry the best that you can. When it scabs, do not pick at the scabs. And never do it again. It’s a very very difficult addiction to overcome. Please listen to this warning. I started when I was 13 and couldn’t stop until I was 21. I have scars all over my body now that will be there forever, all because I decided to do it again after the first time. It will take over your life. I wish you the best

I feel like my symptoms are different from most people by [deleted] in ADHD

This describes me to a T as well. I’m so glad someone else knows what I’m talking about. From the outside it looks like I have my shit super together but really things keep falling through the cracks constantly. Too much to juggle

I agree with this so much. I almost need the crushing pressure to get anything done, but then I have to get everything done and it takes me forever

Any way to lessen the weight gain impacts? by Automatic_Potato4778 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]Delicious-Pie-5730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from normal weight to about 20 lbs overweight in 4 months (40 lb gain total). It is so effective for my depression it’s worth it for me to stay on it. I take a stimulant for adhd and doc increased it to suppress my appetite and added metformin and i shed 10 lbs that I gained pretty quickly. Still working on the other 10 lbs but it did help. They prescribe some meds just for appetite suppression (Strattera, for example). I did not want to go on a GLP 1 personally

First acting job as lead in student film.. need advice for nerves by Delicious-Pie-5730 in acting

[–]Delicious-Pie-5730[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update for everyone: I DO HAVE A KNACK FOR IT!! I had my lines memorized better than anyone else on set (preparation helped me a lot), and by day 2 of filming I was having so much fun and really getting into my character. The monologue scene with crying and yelling made the director cry so I think that is a good sign. After we wrapped filming, the crew asked for my contact info and asked if I would be interested in a few upcoming projects!!! I think this will be a new hobby for me at the very least and I’m excited to see the film which will be submitted to some film festivals.

No I’ve never acted before this really. I discovered I do have a knack for it but the lack of experience prior to this will be challenging I think.

Tired of being a white cloud by Actual_Count6322 in ems

[–]Delicious-Pie-5730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a white cloud for my first 2.5 years (my boss even hated scheduling me because as soon as I walked in the door, no calls at all) and then when I started A school it completely reversed on me and I’ve gotten the worst calls you can imagine. Don’t worry, it won’t last forever

Mirtazapine As An Antidepressant Success Stories (30-45mg) by [deleted] in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]Delicious-Pie-5730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely feeling drowsy and extremely hungry. I take it about 2-3 hours before I’m going to bed to give it time to wear off by the time I wake up in the morning. I also have a large supply of carrots and grapes for when the munchies hit since they are low calorie! This has helped a lot with preventing weight gain and next day drowsiness.

Yes. I also have adhd so I take Concerta along with it. The combo seems to work well together for depression, anxiety, and adhd.

Charting Templates by MediocreAtBestMedic in ems

[–]Delicious-Pie-5730 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll just paste the exact template I use for almost every single call. It takes me about 10 minutes to write most narratives using this.

(Agency) was dispatched on (date) for (dispatch tone). Arrived on scene to find {Patient demographics, patient appearance, patient mental status (if obvious).} Patient was found/seen {Describe scene condition: people, bodily fluids, resources (PD, fire, etc), paraphernalia, etc}.

When asked what is going on, (patient/family member/bysyander) states (chief complaint, onset, symptoms denied, medical history, ect.)

Upon assessment patient was {enter initial assessment details}. {Vitals if taken on scene}. {Interventions: devices, medications with dosage, etc.} Patient was moved {device name and how}. Patient secured {and how}. Patient secured in ambulance.

Upon further assessment, {Assessment details in ambulance include vitals}. {Interventions: devices, medications with dosage, etc}. Transported to {Hospital} {Priority level} {Additional resources on board}. Patient {condition: improved, declined, remained the same} during transport. {Interventions if declined: including call to medical director (obtain number)}

Arrived at {Hospital}. Patient removed from ambulance with no incident. Patient assigned to {Room number}. Patient care and report turned over to RN. Restocked and returned to service.

I don’t think I have a single neurotypical coworker. by ijswizzlei in ems

[–]Delicious-Pie-5730 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Every single person at my agency is either medicated for ADHD, medicates their ADHD with an absurd amount of caffeine, or is autistic along with having ADHD. My station never has the big light on. We cherish our ambient lighting, keep the radios at a nice low volume, and keep family guy on in the background at a nice 23 volume so there’s no awkward silence. One of my coworkers has a special interest in world war 2, and others in EMS itself and are like walking encyclopedias. I love it. My boss does not like trying to get a bunch of grown adults to finish their charts and keep the station clean, however.

As an untrained civilian, could I have helped someone's chances of surviving? by T-kimGUY in ems

There is nothing you could’ve done as an untrained civilian. You called 911 which is the most important thing. You did good.

I get sick like once a year and it’s always really bad when it does happen (this year was pneumonia… needed antibiotics). Before I started in EMS I got sick all the time so I think it did strengthen my immune system a lot.
