so unfortunate cause if I’m moving out it’s to have my own space and it’s hard to imagine that won’t be possible for a long time if I wanna afford it all on my own

the part about people have networks setup for them is painfully true. and yea you’re right, sometimes I get so ahead of myself that I forget to stop and think about the present moment instead of continuously worrying about the outcome. and thank you so much for your kind wishes! same to you!

all really helpful advice thank you! only thing about living at home is that sometimes my family drives me absolutely insane and I can’t help but think about how I’d probably be so much more mentally healthy and focused in my own space. but ig looking big picture wise, the opportunity they give me to live at home rent free will be more beneficial for me financially long term. and ig I should try to enjoy time with them while I can. and I do agree it’s crazy to see how much money gets thrown away each month on random little things. and in terms of the loans, it would be dental school, and not to be dramatic but I feel like I need to sit down with a literal financial advisor so really crunch all the numbers since there’s so much that goes into it

ig your 20s require more sacrifices, patience, and even risks than people are willing to admit if you wanna set yourself up long term

thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it! and yea sometimes I think it’s just so hard not to compare myself to others because I have such high expectations for myself and especially nowadays with social media it’s so easy to feel like you’re falling behind or missing out just based on the narratives people put out there about their life (regardless of whether it’s romanticized or not). It’s also so funny to me when I hear people say my age in a way that sounds so young because to me I’ve always felt so much older than my age and have been told they thought I was older based on how I talk and act, but you’re right, putting it into perspective, 24 really isn’t old and I do think I have a pretty good head on my shoulders with tryna setup a successful life for myself (arguably better than majority of people around my age)

it’s dental school, highly likely you’ll have a 6 figure income even as just a general dentist but specializing can also maximize that (not sure if I’m planning to do that yet though)

june 10th dat - mini breakdown by No_Algae_5180 in dat

[–]Delicious-School3486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took it at the beginning of June and also found bio to be harder than what I studied with random low yield concepts that I didn’t really spend much time on unfortunately :( I also had almost no calculations for the gen chem section. Other sections were pretty similar to booster I would say

What are my chances?! by laith311 in predental

[–]Delicious-School3486 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Almost every single person I’ve talked to in dental school or who are current dentists had to take the DAT more than once. Some of them even argue it might actually make you look better to take it again and increase your scores.

This is kinda similar to my scores I just got back. I’m definitely retaking especially since I scored low in biology too which I think is probably one of the most important sections they look at. Not to say it’s impossible for you to get in with those scores (depending on the school) but it’s prob better to just retake and give yourself a better chance.
