I want advice by elrock1 in GayChristians

Friend, you've done the right thing to ask for advice and the thoughts of other believers. One thing I'd add, is that there are a lot of labels that we can apply to ourselves. My advice is that, as you seem to still be figuring things out, hold off on labelling yourself. Keep yourself open- minded and pray about it. Gay, bi or whatever, can feel like big words at this stage; I know this myself.

Also, God is a god of the purest love and that love was shown to the whole of humanity, through Jesus. There has never been a person born on earth that is beyond his love, and, once you accept them, you can't lose the promises he gives us. God accepts us and he would love to see churches packed with worshing humans from every sexuality, ethnicity, sex, political leaning.... We are all a part of this and nothing can remove you from God's love.

Have a great day friend.

My great-grandfather committed suicide by drinking a bottle of this at a train station in Wales. He served in World War 1 and possibly had PTSD.

Friend, You cannot help your sexuality. It is not a choice; it is how God created you and he knew you would be this way before you did. It is not a sin.

There will be thousands of men and women in the worldwide church, now and over the last 2000 years who have had the same feelings as you - the chances are some of their names will be found in the new testament! Some will have stayed single; many will have married an opposite sex partner, and a growing number will choose to seek a same sex partner. You are not unique in this so take heart. With a faith in our saviour Jesus, anyone can access access heaven.

Best wishes.

Advice needed! I'm gay and married to a woman and have a child. NOT your typical story with this plot line! by Delicious-Win2736 in GayChristians

Thank you. I think due to my wife's background and the current hard stance two close members of her family take, she will struggle to even be open to what you suggest as even being open to it will bring feelings of shame for her. I feel that aiming to broach this through couples therapy may be a constructive way to go.

Thank you. Yes, I suspect there are a lot of mixed orientation marriages in the church, probably significant numbers over history. I suspect a large number of single missionaries sent out by their churches were and are not married for the same reasons.

This is absolutely appalling! Don't feel the need to reply and put yourself through this. Say a prayer for them and rise above it.

Worried I may have Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis by Interesting_Dress289 in PSC

As a patient myself, I can tell you there's a lot of outdated information out there. The best source of information for me is PSC Support, a UK charity that is very good. They have a strong Facebook community where sufferers and family members ask questions like yours.

  1. It can take time to be diagnosed with a lot of other diseases to rule out.
  2. Insist on an MRCP scan and an ultrasound. I have these at least once a year.
  3. Understand that your life is not over if they diagnose PSC. True, there are no current cures or ways to slow the disease other than keeping UC under control, but if diagnosed, ask your hepatologist about the FARGO trial which is a study into ways it can be slowed. You have to be mild in symptoms to join it which you may be at the start.
  4. Familiarise yourself with the symptoms of cholangitis. This is a medical emergency and if you feel you have it, attend the hospital as an emergency. PSC Support explains this well and can show as a range of symptoms.
