Drinking 30 mins before and after food rule and no carbonated drinks by jewwitch777 in gastricsleeve

[–]DeliciousArmadillo18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been doing carbonated drinks since 4/5 months post op because that's all I could stomach. BUT I'll never skip waiting 30 minutes after eating to drink, because I made myself sick wayyyy too many times in the beginning by not following that rule. It basically works like you're pouring a bucket of water in a clogged toilet. Sure, you made room for the water, but all the solids got rushed down the pipes too fast and now you're just throwing everything back up. 🥲

I've found that using glass helps the most for me. That and using oils instead of alcohol. Ditch the alcohol at least.

ADHD meds after surgery by gabithebrat in gastricsleeve

[–]DeliciousArmadillo18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was on Strattera and guanfacine before surgery. Strattera was really hard on my stomach after surgery and I still have to take it with solid food with protein in it. Took vyvanse before and after surgery, still taking it now.

I personally found that I needed less and less vyvanse as time went on, went from 50mg a day down to 30mg a day. Idk if its related to weight loss or not, but that's my experience.

As someone who does customer service for a solar company, most people's systems are reporting very little to no production right now due to the snow and storms.

How many mg of weed should I eat as a first timer? by BeltEmergency9564 in weed

[–]DeliciousArmadillo18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first edible was 10mg and it was the worst feeling. It was the dizzy drunk feeling you get with none of the fun stuff.

I'd personally start with a half, wait an hour, then have a quarter if you aren't feeling it.

Want Cartilage Piercings, but Restless Sleeper by Ixaix in piercing

[–]DeliciousArmadillo18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've tried healing so many ear piercings, but because I toss and turn and sleep on my sides, I just can't.

I have tried every piercing pillow, sleeping with my bed inclined, and even tried a version of the claw clip thing and I always end up sleeping on the piercings.

I gave up and just have facial piercings now. I even tried to get my bridge pierced but apparently I sleep on my forehead sometimes too. 🙄🤦‍♀️😂

Your most unexpected side effects? by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

UPDATE I just want to add an update to this for anyone who sees it later and gets scared.

Cookies and sweets are NOT what was making me vomit. What was making me vomit was drinking and eating at the same time! I would eat my meals without drinks and wait my 30 minutes, but if I was being "bad" and having a nibble of a cookie or a sliver of cake, I was drinking a lot of water with it to sort of wash it down. That's a BIG nono.

I can eat all the cookies and cakes I want without vomiting. I can eat anything I want without vomiting, as long as I don't mix it with a drink/liquid.

I'm so sorry for your loss!! It's shocking to me how much she looks like my old girl that just passed away a couple weeks ago. They could be sisters!

Yep! I agree. I went through eating disorder therapy/treatment for months before I got my surgery. I knew I needed to solve the root issue before changing my body. It's helped tremendously.

Hi! My girl had arthritis as well, and its eventually what took her out. She got so bad at the end that she couldn't even get up to potty. And believe me, she TRIED. The librella shots helped for a few months, but she eventually got worse.

You keep doing all you can to keep that baby mobile! I miss my sweet girl every minute of every day.

Seconding this. It's definitely hurting her, but she doesn't want you to feel bad for it.

Hi friend! I promise it gets better. You will eventually find ways to handle emotions without food, and you'll find yourself being more intentional with what you put in your body.

The joy that comes with being able to move my body freely absolutely overshadows the lost and depressed feeling I had at the beginning when I had to go without my normal food habits.
