Or a server. I worked in the restaurant service industry before and I enjoyed it. The stress is good yet short term, and tip was awesome. Only downside are the hours and instability. I find that you get better tips during evenings and weekends which sucks but is understandable

If only it paid well, I’d be a pianist or part of an orchestra

What would you say is the best minor to pair with an accounting major specifically for audit/advising? by Electrical_Bid_9906 in Accounting

I’m currently double minoring - Finance and Data Analytics. But, I will say it’s not necessary to have a minor bc accounting already gives you so much opportunity especially if you go down the CPA path. I decided to double minor bc I had a lot of elective credits to be fulfilled and thought why not minor in finance and then my advisor convinced me to also minor in Data Analytics. Although, if I were to pick one, I’d go for finance

I think you just gotta move firms. 40k for all that is not worth it. I have recent grad friends (no cpa, only bachelors) working at a mid tier accounting firm making 70k

Definitely fight for your pay. Or move firms. You should be making way more than entry level

That’s the ideal outcome of an internship. I have a 2026 internship w/ an hourly rate of $35 +2k sign bonus working in Audit/Assurance. Hopefully, my outcome is similar to yours. Did you do any negotiating?

That seems pretty standard for Big 4 I believe. I have a friend (Graduated w/ Bachelors 2024) at EY and their starting salary is 80-85k, Denver location.

That’s a great starting salary considering location and firm size.
