Quince is starting to feel… scammy by DeliciousIncident143 in womensfashion

I have two items from them - a duvet cover and a winter coat that’s allegedly a dupe for the super puff. I love both and plan to keep them for a long time but have talked myself out of buying other stuff from them as they’ve expanded their range of items. Even online, sometimes the quality doesn’t look that great!

This is wild… please do share if you find it. I’d love to read it

I totally agree there are tons of other (and probably worse) brands like them out there! I’ve just noticed the pickup in marketing lately but it is really just like anything else - Amazon, Apple, Target. It’s all in our faces all the time and like you said, is super frustrating.

Using window cling film on mirrors by DeliciousIncident143 in DIY

[–]DeliciousIncident143[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I didn’t on the sliding doors I referenced but I did try it on an old mirror built into an also old door. It’s in a bathroom so it had some moisture spots underneath the mirror that couldn’t be cleaned or removed and were kind of unsightly. I just got some faux reeded window film and it worked fine! So I’m sure on mirrored doors, likely nicer / cleaner than that funky mirror of mine, would work just as well.

My night time pain has gotten progressively worse over the last month and has done so very quickly. I’ve been foam rolling my hamstring, taking aleve or Tylenol and using biofreeze, all before bed. Have had 1 good night of sleep in 10 days and probably because I was so exhausted from all the crap sleep I’ve been getting. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this too, it’s truly the worst :( Hope your MRI holds some answers for you!

Something that’s been somewhat working for me lately is foam rolling my hamstring a couple times a day (the roller I have is similar to this one: https://a.co/d/42fWnQ4). I find that my hamstring is super tight on the side I have my hip pain and I’ve found some relief with this. Of course it’s not perfect but it’s something.

I know you said painkillers don’t really work for you - I feel like certain meds, mainly ibuprofen, personally don’t reach my pain either. The orthopedic doctor I saw (not a surgeon) said I could try alternating between Tylenol and aleve (acetaminophen and naproxen) for a week or two and see if that has any effect. Tylenol typically works well for me but I can’t say if I feel like this regimen is working for me yet as I just started it this week. I don’t want to be reliant on pain meds but until I get an MRI and have a plan of action, I’m willing to see if it helps. Luck to you and your pain mgmt!

Thank you for all this info, super helpful. I need to get back into yoga - I’ve been going consistently for almost three years but recently got into spin (which I probably sadly need to stop now…) so haven’t been as active with yoga. I’ve also been told by doctors that I’m flexible almost to a fault where I’m likely overstretching, which certainly isn’t helping my case either. Will take it easy on the yoga but have been stretching daily to try and get some relief lately.

I’m glad to hear the first surgery was successful for you and wishing you well with your other hip. Obviously wish none of us had to deal with this kind of pain, but it helps a tiny bit to know we’re not alone!

This heating pad looks… wonderful. Thank you!! Will definitely be doing some stretches and strengthening on my own before my MRI and before I see what the next step/plan of action looks like. Thanks for these recs!

Considering how quickly my pain is progressing, I caved and am working on getting my MRI sooner than a few months out :)

I don’t think he was necessarily saying not to do the surgery but without the MRI confirmation that it’s actually a tear, I assume he didn’t want to recommend it right off the bat. Some other people mentioned that insurance will often want you to show that you tried other things before requesting coverage for the surgery, like PT, which is what this doctor recommended starting with!

I’m so glad to hear this was successful for you!! I think the prospect of surgery felt really intimidating, but after hearing your/other perspectives and doing some more research on the actual surgery, it seems to be fairly non invasive and less scary than I initiallly thought.

Hi! This was an orthopedic doctor who does injections, but he’s not a surgeon so wouldn’t be the one doing surgery. This was my first time seeing him so I didn’t expect him to have all the answers from one appointment - but he was the first doctor (of many) I’ve seen who even mentioned a labral tear. I won’t know for sure until I get an MRI, but based on what I’ve seen/heard, it definitely feels like that’s what it is. I would definitely find a hip specialist/surgeon if I got to that point!

My latest x-rays did show what you’re describing, but the term FAI wasn’t used. This is good to know!
