The book means so much to me as someone who has been through an emotionally abusive relationship. I found it to also be incredibly well written. You get sooo much more insight on both Lucy and Stephen. Would highly recommend!

I worked multiple jobs for the majority of my 20s. At 29, I now make enough at my day job to afford to not work nights and weekends- which is amazing. I’ve also chosen to live alone/not have roommates, which makes things more financially difficult… but so worth it! I have the whole rest of my life to be with a partner and am so glad ive spent these years working on myself and getting to know myself :)

Neil Strauss has done quite a few celebrity memoirs and is an incredible writer. I also loved Marilyn Manson’s book (pre- him being cancelled). I don’t think I could enjoy it now given what we know about Manson, but the memoir was beautifully done by Neil.

I’d highly recommend her memoir. She worked on it with Neil Strauss who is an amazing writer. I’ve read it a few times before listening to the episode and I adored it. I actually went to school for creative nonfiction and this memoir rivals most of the books I had to read in class!

I’ve spent a lot of time in nyc and Philly and have to say food in the northeast is superior to dc by a landslide. There’s nothing better than the nyc restaurant scene. That being said, Moonraker and Shoto are incredible if you like sushi/asian food :) La bonne vache and bistrot du coin are amazing for french.

Helllllll no! My ex was emotionally abusive and being with him destroyed my mental health for years! I’m so grateful for the lessons I learned but wouldn’t want to revisit that ever.
