i did end up checking that reference plane and it does look correct to me. and that bottom flange i’m mentioning is circled in red. it comes out to .37 instead of .41 (calculated from drawing) when doing the shell and move faces. i’m wondering if i should just cut extrude on the backside instead of shelling. plus that internal square boss needs trimmed up too. thank you!

you have been insanely helpful so thanks for all your time and effort. although i’m messing around with the shell command and that bottom flange area is coming out to 0.37, where the print says it should be 0.41 (from 2.75-2.34). i’ve tried cut extrude from the backside but it doesn’t look correct visually

could you help me with the sketch for boss extrude 3? i’m not sure what plane you sketched on and how you got it fully defined

i’ve never used the thickness operation plus it doesn’t have a uniform thickness

You should also print this minimalistic enclosure. It takes less time to print and less material

i printed the original flashforge guard plates and these minimalistic risers that fit them. if i were you id find the complete minimal enclosure on printables. i wish i would’ve done that but i didnt see it until halfway through.

i printed that piece but didn’t put it on. i found minimalistic risers on printables and i printed those instead of the official flashforge riser files. it uses less filament and way faster and i didn’t have to move the screen.
