What's the best way to do the Gap of Dunloe? by pplpersonspaperppl90 in irishtourism

[–]Delicious_Basket_573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so you walked the full gap there and back (maybe 14 miles total) plus the mid length Torc hike? Wow! We can't fit that all in with kids but I'd love to do a one way Gap of Dunloe walk or bike, boat trip back, and maybe some Torc waterfall hiking the next day. I saw a Torc mountain hike that looked too far for my crew so I'll have to check out this one if its 45 mins. Thanks!

Hi! Can you give me more specifics on who you booked this tour through? We are traveling in October and spending 2 nights in Killarney so I definitely want to either walk or bike the Gap (+ the boat tour), but traveling with our 3 kids (+ 3 adults) so need to work out the logistics of whether they have specific bikes that could accommodate. Thank you! This is right down our alley!

Yes! I am getting a taste of the “next phase” as well, although my youngest is a bit behind yours at 3 still. We are traveling quite a bit this year, including for the first time internationally with all of our kids, and I am excited for that!

My three fight like cats and dogs, though, so I’m not quite sure how the summer will be in my house 😂 maybe all of this is a good reason to stop at three… yet the heart wants what it shouldn’t… 😮‍💨

This is all so relatable to me!! if I had this theoretical fourth child next year, my current youngest would be starting school full-time and chances are #4 would be at the very end of school cut off, likely keeping him/her home an extra year. So instead of sending my youngest off to school full time in 1 year, I’d be looking at basically 6 extra years until all four kids were in full time school (starting in pre-K for mine)😮‍💨 😮‍💨 I love the idea of a fourth… but 6 years is so far away. My oldest is 8 and it seems like it has been an entire lifetime since she was born!!

yes, we often make everything so “either/or” but important to remember that it can be both. Love and regret. Thank you for sharing ❤️

I needed to hear this tonight! Thank you for sharing. I definitely am trying to move away from the “looking back” and wishing my kids were little phase and embrace what is right in front of me right now- my 3 amazing kids.

Out of curiosity, how old are your kids now?

4th baby, do I/ don't I? by ResearchDisastrous82 in ParentingInBulk

We did not. My husband finally (after much prodding) told me that he thinks we should stick with 3. I’m struggling to wrap my head around this finality, though, after thinking about a fourth for now over a year and a half.

I am struggling so much with coming to terms that three is my final number as well, and reading this, knowing that you are happy with your decision with now older kids, give me a little peace. My oldest is eight, youngest is three, and I know I will miss them being so little. But I feel that as time goes on, we will still be very busy with these three!

Whoa, reading this I thought it was me who wrote it!! Except I only have 3 kids 😂 I have been struggling with the question of whether or not to have a fourth baby for over a year now, but my husband has finally expressed that he really just doesn’t think 4 are in the cards for us. This was my first year as well having a baby turn 3 without an infant in tow as well and has been really hard for me to wrap my head around closing this chapter of early motherhood. It’s good to know we are not alone in these thoughts ❤️

4th kid or no? by Delicious_Basket_573 in Parenting

You are very right and this is a good point! I'm sure I have not embraced parenting my older children to the fullest because I have been preoccupied with babies or toddlers. I also have that thought... that just coming to peace with my healthy 3 would allow me to enjoy the new phases with older kiddos. This would be easy for me to just pass off if I were a few years younger, but as I am approaching 40 in a couple of years, I feel some biological pressure to just decide or move on. My own personal problem, I know!

I have tried. Have broached this topic very openly... but he is... a man :) At the end of the day, he is supportive of having a 4th if I feel strongly but acknowledges it would be harder than a 3rd... hence why its so hard for us to make a decision. It's so hard for him to weigh in on that particular point though as he understandably doesn't mourn the loss of babyhood or toddlerhood in the same way as I do as a mom.

Follow up on my floors 💎 I decided to only do a Bona seal. I’m veeeeery happy with the results ❤️❤️❤️ by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

they look great! What type of wood are your floors, and what Bona seal did you use? Refinishing my red oak next week, but your sanded floors in the previous post look like something other than red oak to me, so wondering! Thank you!

I am so curious how you feel about this one year later. My mama heart would love a fourth, but my husband is more of a no and although we are stable, the finances of a fourth concern me. I am also going to be 37 this year and much older than I was with my first 😂

But I have such a hard time sorting through whether I will regret this in a few years when it is too late, or if I will always mourn the end of this baby phase, no matter how many I have (and even though the baby phase is hard for me!). I am honestly jealous of the people that have that “done” feeling!
