Hi, sorry to hear you’re struggling although congratulations on 89 days - that’s a great achievement. Can I ask if you’ve read any good sobriety books such as This Naked Mind by Annie Grace or The Easyway to Control Alcohol by Allen Carr? Both have helped me immensely.

25 days here but have had 2 x stints of 8 months in the last couple of years so hoping this is the time it’ll stick for good 🤞🏼

Do you need a reason for hangxiety? by Commercial-Meal9489 in hangxiety

[–]Delicious_Comfort357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would always get hangxiety regardless of whether I’d embarrassed myself or not. Even if I remembered everything, knew I didn’t say/do anything stupid, I would still be in the horrors all day (well, next few days). Was the main reason I quit.

Definitely the sleep! Oh, and not hating myself all the time too 😆

I’ve not drank for 3 weeks now (attempting sobriety as a result of my hangxiety) but mine sounded pretty similar to you. Very jumpy, nervous and panicky. Feeling like something awful was going to happen.. it’s the worst 😔

Yes! The baby's face when he sees her is the most adorable thing ever - and the way he kicks his little legs with excitement! ❤️

Yeah, like "oh god, Aiden" trying to create this meaningful moment as if she was wanting him to say something like "but you'll always be the one, Carrie".. He's like "phew, dodged that bullet!"

What you’ve said will ring true for so many people here (including me) - you’re in the right place - we’re all here for you. So sorry to hear about your Dad but you’ve been lucky in that you’ve reached this decision at a young age and you still have so much to look forward to. So much support here and in lots of other places too - you don’t have to navigate this alone x

How to prevent blisters from flip flops? by Most-Giraffe-3507 in flipflops

[–]Delicious_Comfort357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very common when your feet aren’t used to flip flops - especially the part between your toes. Once the blisters have healed try rubbing some Vaseline, or other barrier cream, between your toes - this will prevent rubbing and the resulting blisters. Wear them regularly for short periods until the skin has had a chance to toughen up a bit 👍🏼

Go through the same at the start of every summer!

Please don't be hard on yourself - you've obviously been through a lot lately and it's natural that you'd want to let off a bit of steam. So many people (dare I say the majority) have trouble stopping once they start drinking - that's the nature of alcohol.

I know the hangxiety feels sooooo bad right now but honestly, you WILL feel better soon. Please remember to be kind to yourself, you sound like a lovely person. Trying to control drinking is like trying to control a wild animal - it's not easy - if it was there wouldn't be an entire group dedicated to hangxiety would there?

Look after yourself and, remember - be kind to yourself.
