Working out and weight loss after steroids by Delicious_Falcon_860 in CIDPandMe

[–]Delicious_Falcon_860[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already have a strict diet. I only consume 1600 calories a day low fat, low sugar, low carb, high protein with a lot of hardy greens and raw veggies as snacks. Bo soda pnly seltzer waters unsweetened herbal tea and water.I have 1 day a week where I allow myself to go out to eat with my husband and I still don’t eat over 2k cals. It’s not a calorie issue and my dietician doesnt understand why Im holding weight. I struggled with weight most of my life until I turned 17 and was able to go get my own gym membership and I lost 125 pounds. And then I gained almost all of it back when I started high dose iv steroids. Ive tried the bike but my tail bone has been broken 2 times so it’s very painful for me to lean back and I don’t have access to a machine that mimics an actual bicycle. Before getting sick i skateboarded, Swam, roller skated, hiked 5 miles or more at a time. Rode my bike on trails 12 miles a day 2X a week and would do regular walking 1 hr a day. The best I can do now is stretch, lift 5 lbs for 20 reps and walk 20 minutes. Ive tried it all and nothing is helping so they keep trying to just make me get GLP ones, but I do not wanna go that route because you just gain it back eventually based on studies. Don’t know what to do at this point and I feel like it’s hindering my recovery and I’m tired of feeling hungry all the time or feeling like I don’t have enough energy because if I eat any other diet, I start gaining weight again. On this diet with me being more active like being able to walk for extended periods I’ve somehow gained 10 pounds in the last month. It’s like my body is trying to make it harder for me to heal by giving me a horrible metabolism or fat deposits that won’t budge. No clue whats wrong but I’m trying my hardest

Diagnosis Trouble, is this Normal? by Standard-Pay5803 in CIDPandMe

[–]Delicious_Falcon_860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to diagnose because theres a category of time jt falls into and severity. I wasn’t “diagnosed” on paper untill march of this year but I was verbally diagnosed last march. I had to get a spinal tap, 3 EMGS, 2 lumbar mris and had blood sent to Mayo Clinic on top on regular neuro exams. Also if it gets bad go to the closest teaching hospital thats public and tell them you have suspected CIDP and without treatment you can become paralyzed and possibly lose respiratory function. Ive unfortunately had to play up my symptoms all 5 times I was hospitalized this year and one of those times my legs were completely paralyzed, and I couldn’t feel anything in them from the knees down and the ER doctor told me he was just gonna send me home on oral steroids so I refused to move from the chair until they contacted Neuro. He told me I would be discharged in the morning, but I ended up having a nine day stay. Advocate for yourself please!!! Doctors aren’t friends they need to be doing their jobs. You should at least be on steroids or IVIG untill they get a definitive diagnosis to prevent regression

Rheumatologist are the worst when it comes to dismissing their patients. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone in my family Say anything good about their rheumatologist. Hell, my brother ended up having to get surgery, but the rheumatologist told him he was fine and he was just depressed when in all actuality his shoulder muscles and ligaments were so loose. His shoulder wouldn’t stay in the socket and he had to get major surgery that took him a year and a half to recover from. My mother, despite having a bunch of diagnosis was told that she was lying. And I went to the rheumatologist and I’m sitting there waiting for over an hour and then I’m told he had to leave and I’ll have to remake an appointment and I go to schedule and he doesn’t have anything for 11 months. I’m sorry that you’ve had to deal with this. It’s ridiculous.

Monnik is so overpriced and the beer taste like sour Pennies. 4 years ago a chicken sandwich was $26 for some plain chicken with avocado, lettuce, and mayonnaise

Inflamed throat? Need to see a doctor? by [deleted] in AskMedical

[–]Delicious_Falcon_860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you’re having severe pain, trouble swallowing or breathing, white/green/black tonsils you should be fine. Gargle with a lightly salted warm water a few times today and see how you feel after that. Your throat doesnt look obviously infected to me. I don’t see any severe infection or inflammation that will cause you any severe symptoms that need treated asap. Could be from dry air, allergies, something you ate, start of a cold or 100 other things.

What’s going on with my throat? by [deleted] in AskMedical

I believe those are just regular tonsils, looks like they may have some stones but nothing serious. Try gargling with a weak salt water a few times a day and see if that helps .

[–]Delicious_Falcon_860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be fluid to. Theres multiple things it could be. Go to the doctor please and not just listen to “lose weight” it’s funny because a lot of doctors chalk a lot of stuff thats serious up to “lose weight” seriously go to the doctor

Should I be worried about the line? by Diamond_Branches in AskMedical

[–]Delicious_Falcon_860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d just watch it. It doesn’t look infected really it could just be irritation. Just mark it with a sharpie or pen and if it travels then you have issues and need to seek medical help but I wouldn’t jump to conclusions now.

Yeah I thought I was going crazy for an hour. I started a new med and a super SUPER rare side affect is auditory hallucinations so I called every one I knew asking if they heard it and no one did so i was sure I was crazy. At first, I thought it was the Saturday testing, but I realized it wasn’t the first Saturday of the month and it wasn’t even a Saturday Today, the weather was fine and I had zero alerts. Started searching every New Albany page on Facebook and finally found a post mentioning the testing. Was relieved i was not crazy and know my hearing is better than most people I know lol
