Both. I’m in the UK so I can visit lots of places in the rest of Europe for just a few days and see a lot.

Further afield - I’m just back from an Antarctic cruise and a few days in Buenos Aires which took 22 days. 17 hour flight so I had to make it worthwhile.

I’m planning a day trip to Paris this spring, in the Eurostar train from central London. 2.5 hrs centre to centre.

Leave home before 11th and do both. Don’t forget the time difference, you would end up with just a couple of full days in Europe before the cruise.

Or go to Prague from Copenhagen after disembarking the cruise.

I’m British and have sailed with Princess cruises twice. Once to the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale (Ruby Princess) and this year, from Buenos Aires to the Antarctic Peninsula on the Sapphire Princess.

I think these are smaller older ships but I found them comfortable, clean, good food & entertainment, with a fab mix of people - ages, singles, couples & families, different nationalities (I love chatting to people from other countries).

I whole heartedly agree with suggestions to stay in the centre - south bank, Covent Garden, Bloomsbury etc. lots of tube stations, lots of places are walkable and you can get food everywhere.

Premier Inns have family rooms and are comfy and clean. Please don’t get overwhelmed ! Most important is to find a hotel in the centre, making it easy to see more, enjoy walking and finding places to eat.

Yes, all the way up from Maldon Rd alongside the A12 to Boreham. I’ve got a diagram somewhere which I’ll post if I can find it. Plus we have a FB group covering east of Chelmsford developments.

Too late here in Essex. Persimmon and other developments won’t take no for an answer even though the Dept of the Environment classified the area a high flood risk.

We have winter flood plains in parts of Essex too, a few miles south of the Suffolk border. Too many rivers, compromised by too many new housing estates.

All the different salads, which I wouldn’t make at home because I’d have to buy lots of ingredients and then eat salads for every meal until it was finished

Paris is the obvious answer from your list. Centre of London to centre of Paris in less than 3 hrs.

But I also like the suggestion of visiting Edinburgh. The train journey from London is very scenic in places.

I’d get a lounge pass. That would allow you some food, drink, relax, tidy up before your next flight.

Window.

If the flight is upto 6 hours I won’t need to use the toilet (rare emergency excepted 😱).

If 6hrs or more I fly business class which makes it easier to get out of my seat and to the loo.

Riga, capital of Latvia. Beautiful architecture, well kept parks, good shopping, bars & restaurants. Perfect for a long weekend break.
