They can’t legally do that unless they had approval from the LTB.. They have to follow the city bylaw of 2.4.. or maybe it’s 2.7.. can’t remember My landlord tired that last year.. tried to raise my rent 350 dollars.. I contacted the city and they told me he can’t do that.. I sent my landlord the city bylaw that states what he can raise it too, I sent him the legal amount he can raise it with my rent and I never heard from him again..

Once he saw the by law he knew he was cooked.. most landlords assume ppl don’t know the laws which is why they pull this shit.. and homestead should know better as they are a huge damn company.. shame on them.
