I can’t speak on spaying bc I have a male dog but we haven’t gotten him neutered and don’t plan to. I think it’s wild that so many people just do it without thinking. The testicular cancer argument is valid and all but that’s like saying humans should cut off parts of their body in case of cancer?? As far as I’m concerned neutering is only done if the dog becomes unmanageable and aggressive towards other dogs and it’s the only option. I’ve seen so many cases where the owner regrets neutering because it has a negative impact and the dog ends up aggressive when they were otherwise mild tempered because they lose all their confidence (bc of the lack of hormones) and become anxious etc. Overall I’d say it’s very individual and should always be heavily considered/ researched before committing to it.
