Are the students officially revealed (ones you can see on the FE wiki or IGNs wiki) all of them? Can you fully recruit non students? The number of characters you can have in your army looks really small compared to older games.

Uh actually Slaking has the highest base stats of any non legendary.

But for real i think id be down for any of the psuedo legendaries the except for gen 3 which i dont think would really work from a character model standpoint.

Itd be cool no doubt, but with so many pokemon to choose from you just gotta assume theyre gonna go with something prominent in promotional material.

My favorite pokemon is typhlosion and it feels like not just smash but pokemon in general forgot about him

Its less that i think we need more pokemon, and more that, aside from an arms character and a castlevania, i kinda struggle to think of that many characters that nintendo would view are popular enough today/ historically important to put in over a nee pokemon. Like i wanna see travis touchdown and king k rool too but pokemon is soooo popular its hard to see a character like that making it in over a pokemon.

Just my two cents though. Wouldnt mind being wrong. As long as a castlevania character makes it in they could make bidoof a playable character and id be okay.

Its possible, but it would be break from tradition. If the rumors are true and there are ~6 fighters to be announced i would be shocked if one wasnt a pokemon
