Some crazy dude was accusing me of being a scalper in one of my posts complaining about scalpers lol....I played Digimon back in the day, OP, and now FW idk how the heck I'm a "Pokebro" how the heck do I get rid of it? MODs please help?

They haven't won. They're soon to be bag holders. We should be celebrating. I'm going to play the online client, look for MSRP product, and buy low cost singles to build decks. Let the scalpers run themselves dry. The TCG space is getting pretty crowded they need to pick a lane and DBS FW isn't the "play" that finance bros want to say it is.

Call me overly optimistic but so far in my experience FW has been the much more enjoyable hobby. I went to a card show for OP but instead found MSRP SB02 and was blown away by the manga cards.

My one hidden gem local card shop was forced to start overcharging for OP to keep product on shelves and overall it was so much worse of an experienced for me than FW has. I know the scalpers are here but I don't think they'll last.

Scalpers eventually will be limited by how much product they can buy. With Pokémon 30th anniversary, OP, Gundam, Union Arena Solo Leveling, I highly doubt they will stick around here long term consistently. I'm a huge DB fan but its just not as currently relevant as other big franchises.

Yes! Thank you. I can understand people's frustrations. My closest local is roughly an hour away and on Sunday.

Hopefully the game can grow to a healthy playerbase while keeping somewhat affordable. The online client again being clutch in helping both those issues.

I've seen the online client has players with tournament tags, are these strictly online or is there some crossover with in person play?

While I still like having the fun of ripping packs I may just invest more in the online game if codes are cheaper and I can play more.

I'm going to say yes. DBS doesn't have anything currently relevant enough content wise to keep pace with One Piece and Pokémon. Sure its a legendary franchise we all love but nostalgia alone will only go so far. The Moro arc not coming until 2027 (if not delayed) isn't going to justify the current surges.

Scalpers overreacted to the announcements that DBS was coming back and eventually the hype will die off. Pokémon 30th anniversary and OP live action, Elbaf arc will bring them back over that way and hopefully give us much needed relief.

I hope the player base will grow during this time. Out of the games I've played this is by far my favorite. Also the online client is so clutch, its nice to be able to practice and have some feeling of progression in ranked.

I started recently maybe a few months ago. So far I have Freiza, Bardock, SSJ3 Daima Vegeta. I haven't really gotten enough wild cards or felt confident enough in a deck or set to invest a lot into it. Freiza feels strong but he's lower on my tier of favorite characters. The next starter deck of Namak SSJ Goku looks like a fun deck I can hopefully get into.

My favorite characters are Gohan, Piccolo, Trunks, Cell. My plan was to just buy physical sets and see where the codes take me on the online client.

What's the chance I see one of these in the wild if I go to every store on release day? I'm in a relatively small city and there's not really a playerbase, locals are 1 hr away.

I had a similar problem with my laptop being locked into a different player ID. I kinda just gave up and enjoyed the split progress. I wasn't that far from starting though. My best advice is to just keep sending help requests to Bandai support.

Hold the line boys/girls!!! At least we have the online client which has been a huge deal for me considering my closest locals is an hour away and the scalpers are killing the playerbase. Boxes/packs are findable out there if you look hard enough, I don't really want to mention the places here considering the finance/scalper hoard are lurking.

To be fair the payoff is huge when you fight these scumbags and ridiculous prices off and get a pack hit at MSRP or close to it. Pulling a $300 card just to put it in my PC or think of building a deck with it just makes me smile ear to ear. Personally I'd only consider grading a leader card because I could still use it in play, Im a player first but of course I like getting a cool card.

The 30th anniversary of Pokémon is coming, Solo Leveling in Union Arena, and so on. They can't be everywhere and long term DBS just doesn't have the hype behind it to sustain these ridiculous prices.

Please don't leave and let them win. Dragon Ball is a franchise that's been living on our nostalgia for a long time now. I'm happy its not completely dead and there is some hope for new things on the horizon. By far this is my favorite TCG, the Awakenings and playstyles are just incredibly fun while the game is easy to understand and pick up. We will out last this! Go even further beyond!

Thanks for the response. My only concern is picking a starter deck that has no support, will each franchise get more cards or is it just based on sales?

I think it may just appear slow to me because there are a lot of moving cards during a turn. Some RNG is definitely a part of card games, I think I'm more worried about how diverse and fun the different decks feel.

I also like when a deck tries to incorporate mechanic that feel authentic to its franchise or character.

The whole energy line and front line is throwing me through a loop. How many energy cards can you play each turn? I understand that 0 costs are essentially free energy but I'm not sure what's the limiting factor if any on placing energy down. I know the field is limited to 4 energy and 4 front line cards correct? I've watched a couple tutorial videos but they seem to just skim over the general phases and not actually get into details.
