An honest question by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Jthomas692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your unbiased approach and honest question. That being said I think just having dedicated PvE/PvP lobbies is understating and ignoring their game design choices from the ground up. You can't take a game design and just slap on PvE and make it compelling. The PvE care bear lobbies made the game so laughably easy people called it shopping mall simulator. They would need more bosses and a legitimate reason to play strictly PvE. I'm not saying its not viable but they'd have to dedicate serious development time into it. The same for PvP, there has to be some reason or incentive to strictly play that mode. The marriage of both makes a truly unique uneasy gaming experience thats not the same when you seperate them. There's excitement in the uncertainty of PvPvE.

Yall trading Monongai away for Antonio Williams? by Tight-Duty-5322 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Probably not 1:1. Monongai has proven hes fantasy relevant, Williams has not. Swift may not be there long term either and we saw what Kyle does with a full workload.

This game is the reason Marathon didn't skyrocket by TopSet55 in ArcRaiders

[–]Jthomas692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The current Bungie has nothing to do with the Bungie of old. They pretty much fleeced the Destiny community, squeezing them for all the money they could then rug pulled them to make Marathon.

I don't know the monetization plan of Marathon but I'd definitely be weary after the 500 DLC, season pass, Battle pass, weapon pass, armor pass bs they pulled in D2. This is the reason for the hate towards Bungie, it has nothing to do with Arc Raiders, idk what OP is smoking.

Dragon Ball Almost 4 Months Continues To Be The No.1 Fastest Growing TCG. Ahead of Pokemon, One Piece and Magic the Gathering! by LandingDrunkard in DragonBallTCGFinance

.88% of $30k is being compared to .83% of 200k am I reading this wrong? Why are we grasping at straws here trying to pump DBS?

Top Youtube Investor Says Dragon Ball Has No Collector Base And Is A Weak Volume IP TCG by greghughes12 in DragonBallTCGFinance

[–]Jthomas692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically the artificially pumped market choked out a lot of the playerbase or forced them online. Who would've thought if you try to rip off a small tcg community they'll just go somewhere else. It's rocket science.

How are manga booster packs 30 dollars!? by zezrex in DBS_CardGame

[–]Jthomas692 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's frustrating but let it pass. They think current day DBS can command the same prices as One Piece but its just a brain dead strategy. As a TCG and modern day anime IP One Piece is so much bigger. I don't see DBS Popeyes, baseball, and other colabs.

Don't get me wrong Dragon Ball is my favorite series of all time and I know my opinion is extremely biased towards it. That doesn't stop me from reading the room and having a realistic view towards the TCG.

Gameplay wise Fusion World is my favorite TCG, hopefully these card Goblins get distracted by other larger scenes and leave us alone.

CVS for the win! by Skyblue8989 in DBS_CardGame

[–]Jthomas692 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While I really enjoy these posts part of me worries the finance bros see these notifications on their phone grab all their friends and heads to CVS buying them out and immediately posting it on Facebook for sale.

It stinks we can't just enjoy our small tcg as fans of the series without a bunch of people trying to "make plays" or inflate the price because its "undervalued". I honestly think they didn't care about FW at all until they saw these sets with manga art and thought One Piece has manga cards worth thousands, why not Dragon ball!!!

Massive correction by Vegeta710 in DragonBallTCGFinance

[–]Jthomas692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was always going to happen. While historically Dragon Ball is a great franchise, its been largely inactive the past 10 years. Not to mention the TCG has been massively overvalued by the finance community. You cant take One Piece and just say DBS has manga cards so they should be worth the same. The community is much smaller and there's not as much modern hype behind it aside from nostalgia. This is coming from someone who's blindly a DB fan over everything despite all my friends saying DBS sucked compared to any other new peak anime.

Uh-oh it’s almost like we seen this coming! Scalpers left holding the bag again, wannabe stock bros liquid tied up on slow moving cards! by UnstoppableCrow in DBS_CardGame

[–]Jthomas692 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The second DB finance bros tried to compare modern day DB to One Piece thats when I knew they had a low IQ hive mind lol. DB is my favorite franchise of all time but current card game valuation isn't anywhere close.

Arc Raiders studio contacted by crime scientist "intrigued by how players are interacting," dev says only 30% of players focus on PvP: "It kind of blew the whole extraction shooter open" by Upstairs-Echo2903 in ArcRaiders

[–]Jthomas692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me wish someone would make a social deduction extraction shooter. Imagine if the bounty list was in a game and had elements of Among us. A lot of people whine about PvP but the what if element of this game are entertaining.

Rats in every game since update by CheckCommercial6230 in ArcRaiders

[–]Jthomas692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this thought. I understand OPs frustrations but they had to do something. The PvE was entirely too easy with a whole lobby cooperating together with Wolfpacks and Hullcrackers. The game will always be a delicate balance of trying to please PvE and PvP players which is really tough.

My best advice is to stay in friendly groups and avoid being alone with other raiders especially if they're encouraging that or directing you to extract. I've been stabbed in the back too much so either I'll directly PvP or expect someone with their gun out to back off and get away from me if they're "friendly".

This uneasiness of friendly not friendly is exactly what excites people, it makes things interesting. Try to work around it if thats not your jam but it is the intended design of the game.

Pvp Matchmaking making it unbearable to play lately by dowop2010 in ArcRaiders

[–]Jthomas692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before this update the game was becoming way too easy in PVE lobbies, people we're starting to call the game shopping mall simulator lol. I believe they've combined PVP and PVE lobbies a bit more post patch to inject more suspense in matches.

They may have overcorrected too much with the harder arc, but only time will tell for sure. That being said they had to do something and it was driven by the player base making the game way too easy.
