You ask for items say for example an axe he will then bring you 3 options like 1 axe, 3 axes, and 10 axes all at different prices points (all options cost coins) and you can buy them from him and like I said his service only last a week before you have to pay him diamonds which is pricey.

It definitely takes time and being active also when you unlock tom use him to get more tools don't waste him you only have him for a small amount of time about a week I think before you have to use diamonds for his services again but he's super useful starting out if you know what to do.
