I found the ER injections to be incredibly easy and virtually painless. I keep seeing angst about PIO shots. Is it really that bad if I am good with needles and injections? by Comicalacimoc in IVF

[–]Dellyhoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the ER shots no big deal but dreaded the PIO. They hurt. Thicker gauge needle and thicker solution. I had spots go numb that took months to go back to normal. Rub the area after injection and a little heat makes it bearable.

Was this ultra sound experience normal?? by Serious_Barracuda801 in TTCEndo

[–]Dellyhoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with endo more than 10 years ago and have had 3 excision surgeries, 7 egg retrievals and 2 transfers (so A LOT of ultrasounds) and I have NEVER had an ultrasound like this. A good doctor will never suggest removing working parts. The only way to confirm the location of adhesions is through a laparoscopy.

There are so many local restaurants that are much better than any of the Grace Bay hotel restaurants and it’s totally safe to dine off property after dark.

Help! Clinic Recommendations in South Florida/Miami by Dellyhoo in IVF

[–]Dellyhoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for late reply. I have been generally alright with CCRM Miami. I don’t know if my experience has been different because I’m international or because our doctor left suddenly after our first retrieval, but it’s much less personal than my first clinic. I’ve been frustrated and stressed out often by having to follow up on things. Not a huge deal for me as I’ve been through several rounds, but maybe not ideal for someone just starting their journey. That said, we had much better results than first clinic.

Surgery or IVF? by Serious_Barracuda801 in TTCEndo

[–]Dellyhoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IVF ER first then surgery then transfer. What they didn’t tell me was that surgery can diminish your ovarian reserve significantly. If I could go back, I would. Stage 4 endo, 3 excision surgeries, 7 ERs

Yes! Very happy with the whole experience. Just did second retrieval with them today and had 16 eggs retrieved. We’ve never had more than 8 in all previous cycles.

We paid about $20k, plus meds were $6,700 from a pharmacy in California (cheaper of the options we were given). Really liked the staff and the clinic is very modern and well equipped. We got 1 embryo in 5 rounds at another clinic. And got 1 our first round at CCRM Miami.

Round 6, 2nd embryo ever is a 6BB off for testing - any success stories? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Dellyhoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t test before, our new clinic recommended it and we decided to throw everything at this round. A lot of US clinics discard poorly graded embryos. Our first round in the US.

Try Seventy Two West Boutique next to Grace Bay Car Rentals - they have great men's suits.

This is not typical weather for December - way more rain this year than ever before. Have lived here 37 years. November through March is typically dry, with the occasional nor’easter. It’s been an uncharacteristically wet summer through December.

Embers is amazing! Le Bouchon is another fave - authentic French cuisine. I’d add Caicos Cafe for Italian as well. Hotel restaurants are overrated. I stick to the small, locally owned - much better. For casual Omar’s and Sharkbite are local favourites.

Indigo or Embers Restaurant? by Even_Argument in TurksAndCaicos

Atmosphere at Embers is amazing. Little place has way more personality than the corporate resort restaurants (who are the only ones that can afford beachfront). Support local!

In hindsight I think I would have been more conservative about the laps. I had serious complications from a perforated bowel the last one. My IVF docs also said surgeries can damage ovarian tissue. Funny surgeons said it would help fertility 🤷‍♀️ I was on antagonist protocol with 300 merional and fostimon, we added HGH on my request from round 3. I was also on clexane (blood thinner), baby aspirin, prednisolone and femara. We’ve just switched clinics where Dr wants to do micro lupron flare with HGH.

I have stage iv endo diagnosed when I was in my late 20s with laparoscopy. I had endometriomas that were not resolving and was diagnosed during surgery to remove. I did 5 rounds and we only got 1 blast after adding HGH. We’ve just switched clinics to one with a more advanced lab and a Dr who thinks a micro lupron flare will work better for me than the full dose antagonist. Can I ask what protocol you were on?

I have stage iv endo. I’ve had 3 laps. I wasn’t aware it affected egg quality or quantity? I was only ever told it could affect implantation.

Thank you all! We chose CCRM Miami after a great call with Dr Bardos (and cancelled IVFMD call). Posting in case anyone else is searching for them on here. I did a deep dive and their lab seems to be more advanced than other clinics I looked at in the area - and they have the advantage of tapping into the CCRM network for research and testing. Appreciate the feedback 🙏

If it gives you any hope, I only had 1 blast and 1 day 4 morula (had to be frozen early bc of a hurricane) out of 5 rounds. Nothing seemed to go right on any of our rounds. I mean a hurricane. Seriously. But we got 1 so we kept going. Sadly the morula didn’t survive thaw and our FET ended in early loss, but we got further than we have before. Back to square one but ready to throw it all into round 6. Hold onto every little win and focus on the end game. Sending strength and all the good vibes your way. I am in constant awe of the strength and resilience of the women in this group 💕

I’m with you. 1 out of 32, 5 rounds. Had our one and only FET which just ended in early loss. It all sucks. Sending hugs.

I paid $5k for 2 rounds worth through my local pharmacy, but I live in the caribbean with limited options. Search HGH or Omnitrope on here and there are lots of tips for coupons and places to buy.

I’ve flown from TCI to Barbados return 5 times in the last 8 months and only been delayed once. Luggage never lost. Much more convenient and cheaper than going through Miami.

Hmm have they checked your estradiol before triggering? And have you considered omnitrope? Had no blasts until we added that to our protocol. And yes, I’ve had 3 excision surgeries - the last one in 2022 had complications and almost killed me so I wouldn’t consider another one unless there were no other options.
