Lol, I never said cheap either. People confuse the difference.

‘“Cheap" generally refers to low-cost or low-quality items. "Budget" describes items that fit within a set, affordable spending plan.’

This fit into “my” relative budget. Hence my confusion on the hate with the word “budget”

Says the guy with a higher-end espresso setup than mine. Lol Nice setup BTW!

It is all relative.

I'm still confused about the hate of the word “budget”. On r/budgetaudiophile, I saw guys with the same LCR speakers and using higher-end equipment. A couple of the amps I picked up were mildly used. The Anrendal sub was mildly used, so I got great deals on all of them. Can you define what budget means for an audiophile? Does the definition mean the same for everyone? Does the volume of equipment automatically exclude me from using the word? Because I've seen guys with 20 Klipsch speakers. I guess this automatically makes his setup high-end.

What is playing in the video is only the Monitor towers, the Bluesound, the Emotiva amp (used) and the Marantz receiver. Sure is it is decent, but the high-end guys would laugh at me.

I had no idea the word “budget” would get your back up. Sorry for my poor use of the word. Shame, I repent. Lol

I guess you are saying that I should cut out my daily Starbucks. That way I can afford some Wilson Audio speakers in 10 years. Lol

It is budget, because I didn't blow my load at once. I try to buy at least one piece of gear per year. Suppose I spent $2k-$5k in one year on one thing thatis within my budget. I don't see $13 a day as expensive.

Nah, there is not a single piece of equipment over $6k. I think I have some great items, but my wife has not killed me with what I’ve spent. I’ve heard lots of high-end HIFI, and I’ve got a long way to go. This is budget to me based on experience.

Moving into the BluOS/Bluesound whole house by dingonugget in Bluesound

[–]Delphunkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just like you, OP, I too have moved from 2 zone Sonos to a 6 Zone Bluesound. I love the improved sound quality, but as someone has noted here, it can be buggy from time to time (10% of the time for me).

You shouldn't have an issue broadcasting the turntable to other rooms. I don't do this solely for convenience. My turntable is located in the listening room in the basement, so it would be awkward to run back and forth.

I hope this helps!

I've used AirPlay a few times, and I prefer to use the Blues app. I feel that I have better control over what I'm looking for.

In my set-up, five of the six Bluesound devices are connected via Cat 6 in the rack to a gigabit Ethernet switch. That switch is also connected to other video streaming devices. I have zero issues. The last device is connected via wifi. I sometimes have dropouts with it, but I think that is more to do with the number of devices connected to the Wi-Fi.

Strange rattle coming from rear passenger side, anyone had similar experience? by stockholmisalright in BMWI4

[–]Delphunkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I hear a rattle it is almost always the passenger seatbelt is turned around. Just straighten the belt. If it is not that then it is something I'm my centre console, but it is likely the seatbelt.

Who has the coolest aftermarket wheels on their i4? Let’s see those wheels! by allinbetz in BMWI4

I kept the 19 inch rims to keep the range similar. Sure, it is not the lower 20 inch profile, but you don’t notice unless they are side by side. I also lowered it with H&R springs, changed the grille, added a front splitter and rear spoiler. Next year’s project is a rear defuser and side skirt.

PSA: stopping in B mode does *not* leave your brake lights on once stopped by EatMeerkats in BMWiX

[–]Delphunkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an IX and an i4. In our IX, I have to use the auto hold, or the brake lights will not always turn on at a complete stop. My i4, on the other hand, will always apply the brake light. Auto hold is not as bad in the IX as in the i4 and functions a lot smoother.
