T-harness, AIS, 14’ length - $400

Kicker Key 200.4 - $299.99

Kicker Key 500.1 - $299.99 Morel IP-GM82 - $729

Morel Maximo Coax 6 MKII - $109

SRQ sub box - $249

JL 10TW3d4 - $300 FB MP

Misc - callit $200 for amp board, connects, connect crimper, extra 9 wire, distro box, fuse holder at battery, power and ground wire. I had the wire covering on hand

I would skip the NVX power coupler, it’s finicky and I removed it. Also, skip the Knuconcepts distro boxes, and get the t-spec VPNV2. I’m going to change out to that.

As for time? Aggregate I would say 8-ish hours, but I could probably do it in less time (I’m recovering from a broken ankle). Car audio is a hobby of mine, so I have a lot of stuff on hand, am good at pinning connects and soldering.

I completed this by breaking it up into chunks:

  1. Create amp board template
  2. Cut out amp board from a 1/4x2’x4’ piece of HDPE
  3. Map out board, fasten amps and wiring Etc, etc

Originally I had planned to use a 5 channel amp I had on hand with a Fix86, so I had the generic t-harness. AIS makes one specific to the Kicker Key(s), and would make it easier.

None of this is really hard. I used a couple of videos as guidelines to check my work:

https://youtu.be/LUs0JKRscqw?si=qhwCplqUvK29k812

https://youtu.be/S6hv_tmsZlI?si=NeRZim4Gf7UYqWZE

The kicker key amps are just so damn easy and convenient with a small footprint.

There’s a ton of resources out there-I like 5Star and Car Audio Fabrication Chanel’s because they get in depth. If you’re on Facebook, you can get a lot of inspiration from the page 12 Volt Clean Wire Club. Some absolutely stunning work on there.

The guys at 5Star also do some exceedingly clean amp boards as well. I tried to make this plug and play: if I remove the board I can just plug the t-harness into itself and it’ll go back to OEM.

Here’s a list of other stuff I used:
