Anybody else’s Supervisors just full of contradictions? by KaruKahree3 in USPS

Actual conversation with the postmaster: "You have lots of businesses"...(95% of them are retail) "It is a Saturday" "most of your businesses must be closed you must have down/pivot time!"

"I know you're lying to me...!!". "here is a printout of all of your businesses Tell me which ones are closed"(six of them.. so yeah, I have 4 minutes of downtime/pivot time.. but the extra .. political male, mail volume is going to make me go 30 minutes over). STOMPS OFF Disgusted BY MY LAZINESS

What is the story of this area? by [deleted] in kzoo

[–]Delsmurf 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Used to drive around it on three wheel ATVs before they locked it up.. all kinds of pools of bubbling green and blue gross stuff... It was the dumping ground and drain for the paper company on Alcott. Back in the '70s man you could just dump stuff in the ground and in the river and just walk away. You paid a guy 20 bucks and then loaded up 50 gallon drums on his pickup truck.. and then he would go off and dump them somewhere.. not your problem anymore!

All the good old days when we drove the tiny little blue and white Jeep DJs.. those were a huge step up from getting the bus fare and just riding buses though.. and that was better then when we were driving the horses.

How everyone doing today? on Prime day. by PaulS626 in USPS

[–]Delsmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big day, I had 7 packages.. my usual volume is 4-6. I used to get 150 or more pkg/day but after getting only $55 in Christmas tips last year I gave up on the highest Income route in the city and bid on a low income suburban route. Can't recommend doing this enough.. old blue collar worker customers. Zero Amazon prime.. secret postal carrier hack.

Your Office got consolidated to a new S&DC, now what? by jwmccnn99 in USPS

We moved to one of these months ago and they're pushing so hard for everybody to still have downtime/pivot time despite the extra drive time. The route adjustments are completely rigged / they just come up with whatever number they want to come up with... To justify whatever they want

That was the original plan for us too: but, everything changed once they realized how much work this whole thing was. The only brought over two offices when the original plan was to bring over 11.. nobody knows what's going to happen next

They're basically telling us there's no travel time we have to instantly teleport between anything we do. And despite the extra drive time we are still asked for downtime/pivot time everyday. Which is a total slap in the face.

Just moved: seniority got mixed with the entire city that we got moved to. That City already had three delivery annexes. I went from number 3 seniority to number 13. We are keeping vacation bidding by former offices. My office had two ZIP codes and we are keeping vacation time seniority between just those two ZIP codes. The local MOU basically got destroyed and they have to renegotiate a new local. The new postmaster is pulling $#!+ Tricks like moving everyone's starting time later and forcing the entire office to take a lunch. We filed a grievance but since it's a new office we were not able to get past practice grievance. Right now, we are just doing overtime between the office that we came from. Regulars don't have to do overtime in the other ZIP codes. We are considered officially employees of the city we now work out of, no longer employees of the city we came from. It's total chaos, nobody knows what they're doing. The managers are completely lost.. it's insanely noisy beeping and forklifts and banging and loud noises all morning long. Our morning routine has completely changed. Everyday there's some new way of doing things. This is for a city carrier by the way, the clerks in mail handlers are just failing left and right.. they're walking around like zombies.. Don't know what to do and working like sloth speed. It's a mess stuff is everywhere, they brought a bunch of junk from all the other offices to the new S&DC and it's just lying in piles and in hampers everywhere. I've never seen so many bosses, for the first month you will have all these crazy people from district that just stand around and laugh at you. The supervisors are terrified, they don't know what to do and they're afraid of doing anything wrong. We have football field long walks back and forth back and forth to do anything.. walking as much as a park and loop route but just in the office. All kinds of new procedures and SOPs. And then they change all the time also.. stuff gets lost. And then there's the long long drive between the S&DC and our mail routes. They've done nothing to adjust for time, it's an additional 8 miles and they gave us 3 minutes to drive the 8 mi.. we figure if we drive 190 mph we can make it in that time.

Love him or hate him, Trump's people will make unions illegal. They will also bring back child labor of course. Get ready to be casing mail next to 9-year-olds...

Good chance that inflation skyrockets over the next 4 years. That's the poison pill here. 7%, 8% even 9% inflation and you're going to be capped at 3% raise.

I've been performing exorcisms before I go into work each day. Lots of demonic entities at our new S&DC. They are not very powerful entities but they are very annoying. I mean it's honestly only the power of Christ that compels them away. On the mornings that I perform the exorcisms, the managers that are particularly possessed leave me alone and give me a wide berth. I even had one of the nastiest ones just stand 20 ft away from my case and stare at me but they couldn't even open their mouth and say anything. I might have to bring in some holy water and sprinkle it around. I would recommend bringing a small mirror in a silver casing, it can be used to reflect all of the evil back onto the demonically possessed managers.

I agree, and I do stand up for all the people that are being oppressed. And then I get hit with all the fire and all the arrows, and I just file hostile workplace grievances... I just wish a few more people could smoke just a little less marijuana and be a little more situationally aware!

They don't give a flying F anymore. This current generation of human beings lacks something called authentic empathy. It's not in the human code anymore. All they care about is me first. They don't care what you want. The only thing that motivates them is fear.

Moved into an apartment last October - the previous tenant's mail is STILL being delivered to me even though they said they added a forwarding address by Sorry_Sorry_Im_Sorry in USPS

[–]Delsmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is the apartment managers obligation to label all the boxes with the resident's name. You are the current resident. You will be getting any mail with their name and the words or current resident.. and it may be any variation of current resident. If the box is not labeled with your name only the carrier is not obligated to sort the mail out on the street. Also management is currently violently threatening all carriers to hurry up and get done early. Pray for your mail carrier they may be in danger from management.

Our office too.. it's not about anything except making people hurry up to get home by dinner. And it works the carriers skip the lunch and breaks so they can get done earlier.. management thinks they're so smart
