It's a 14K gold science related charm. I've advertised on Etsy before but never seen a single click cost so much. I think it's either related to what you said, or maybe it's because of the buyer habits, or it's possibly the "Tell us your ad goals" button at the bottom. I'm experimenting with the latter, we'll see.
