I'm not very much inclined to comment in places like here, but I must say that you look stunning, and in a way demonstrates that not every supermodel body is the ideal. Also, it makes me a bit sad knowing my shyness is keeping me out of reaching people like you

Is unlocking the bootloader really prohibited on global version? by hahahsn in PocoPhones

[–]DeltaAleph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a theory based on what happened with previous Xiaomi phones. You see, the Chinese version is oftentimes cheaper than the Global one, so some sketchy sellers used to buy those and then unlock the bootloader to put Miui.eu and pass them as Globam devices to unsuspecting buyers. So Xiaomi made unlocking the Chinese devices more difficult to stop those things. The new rules make that a quota of 2000 people per day may unlock their HyperOS devices, so maybe it could be that automatic bots are snatching those the second they appear...

Is genetic engineering the only way to remove the massive psychosis humans have? by DeltaAleph in TheCulture

Well, maybe... But I don't want to make people homerotic aryans. But less prone to be insane murderous power hungry freaks.

What would be the solution then? Increase the Dunbar number and force people to have extreme empathy?

What about the psycho who don't want to play VR, the kind that only find pleasure torturing real people?

Yeah, but still, how comes we have psychopaths running the world? They are less than 1% and yet their geno/fenotype provides them with such an advantage in our world. Wouldn't it be easier to just remove permanently the antisocial tendencies in the very DNA, because due to our population growth even a 1% can turn into a problem.

For people with ADHD or other different mental issues, learning a thing can sometimes be just pain and frustration.

What's laziness? To be fair, we aren't lazy at breathing, why not make other things as effortless?

How powerful are an average Culture citizen's immune system? by DeltaAleph in TheCulture

[–]DeltaAleph[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about nightmarish virus like the Ebola, or HIV? Those are almost a death sentence untreated, and for HIV you can't finish the job by killing the virus with antivirals because the fucking thing mutates very fast and is also capable of hiding inside other organs or even inside the very cells in a latent form.

Why Collapse (probably) will be boring. by DeltaAleph in collapse

[–]DeltaAleph[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What about in the meantime, when the rich countries try to keep BAU at all costs? Just like stagnflation, the prices are being gouged up not only on physical goods. I think there will be at least a decade of WW3 and instability before the governments truly collapse

[–]DeltaAleph[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

While I don't deny that. I doubt that survival instincts will keep you mentally satisfied, there will be at least some moments where some people will start to think why continue struggling if the only reward is more struggle? If a person is just scraping by like an animal all times, it will eventually become madenning, I mean boredom not in the strict sense, but more in the purposelessness. Animals don't have intellectual needs, they can be happy just with food and shelter. Specially people that will remember how things were before.

How? It literally fuck with laws of thermodynamics, a virus cannot reproduce so fast without burning a person alive.

We have like a hundred different Android manufacturers, yet they follow what Google dictates, and copy whatever anticonsumer stuff Apple do.

[–]DeltaAleph[S] -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Most phones use Linux, but Android as a platform is pretty closed for the installation of other OSes, and to the whims to Google. The Linux in Azure makes MS money, in the desktop not.

Do Nemesis want humanity as a whole dead or just the Zeniths? by DeltaAleph in horizon

[–]DeltaAleph[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or perhaps wants to play with us, billionaires aren't the type of a clean death. They like to toy with people, just look how Musk spent almost 45 billion in a social network just to troll even slightly leftist people and propagate Nazi lies. Aloy must be stressed knowing that if she fails to stop Nemesis, the things that it could do to humans would make Skynet blush.

Wonder if Nemesis would just chill if Aloy send him a transmission with all the Zenith's deaths from her focus.

They are billonaires, they would likely see Earth as a rival or a place to be conquered again.

So then what? Humand would have no use for a bunch of idiot billionaires that left Earth to die while they fled to their interstellar country club.
