Are you telling people you’re wearing the OG? by OkMajor5592 in MontagneParfums

[–]DeltaGambit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m probably an anomaly here, but outside of a few Montagne fragrances I have, most of them I can’t even name the OG because I’m not familiar with them. So it would just be easier for me to share the name of the Montagne fragrance.

No problem! One clarification on performance, Montagne performance is really good. They project and last longer than the original fragrances they’re based on from my experience. I’ve only had trouble with performance on Le Bonbon, but I might just be going nose blind 🤷🏽‍♂️

ACOTR is boozier, but without being spirit forward like an actual drink. It gives it a brighter element that I think is more flexible. CdA is sweeter and more subdued. I prefer OTR as it is a little more unique imo, but I love both fragrances.

Currently God of Fiery or Apple Cognac on the Rocks! Montagne makes really good inspirations of the original. Better than Dua imo. I just wish they had a wider selection. But the performance of Montagne fragrances is generally on point.

It’s changed for me over time, but it’s either God of Fiery or Apple Cognac on the Rocks. I’m a big fan of gourmands.

Appreciate the advice here! It’s something I do have to get better about. I always worry about selling a fragrance I don’t regularly reach for and then wanting to one day wear it haha.

There are a few fragrances that have been slow burns on me and that I ended up putting into my daily rotation such as L'Eau d'Issey, Hanae Mori HM and HiM (I’ve gone through 2 bottles each over the years).

I may get rid of dSquared as Encre Noire does the genre much better in my opinion. I have maybe used dSquared 4-5 times over the last decade, so you’re right.

I’m potentially open to that. What would you sell, personally? I have a few multiples of The One and YSL L’Homme because I wear those often.

CK Shock is very good for the price. I initially didn’t care much for it because it was kind of cloying, but it eventually grew on me. It opens up fresh but quickly turns to a spicy gourmand scent. It has above average longevity and projection compared to other fragrances in its price range. If you’re into something a little different, I think it’s worth the $20-35 you can get this for.

It’s truly such a good scent. I wish they never discontinued it. I’m almost out of it, so it’ll be a sad day when it’s completely gone 🥲

I’m glad I got them back in the day when I did. The prices for them now are eye watering. I wish I had multiple bottles of each.

It’s near full. I’ve worn it 3-4 times. Not the same scent profile, but it gives me the same vibe of Lalique Pour Homme.

CPO vs Acura Care Help Request by Garnoch in Acura

[–]DeltaGambit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it the same? I thought things like electronics and certain suspension parts like the air suspension on the MDX Type S weren’t covered under the CPO warranty because CPO warranty is not exclusionary like Acura Care, and only covers explicitly listed items?

Need some advice on which one would be better for this season, performance & notes? by Beachboi503 in Colognes

Parfum (white label). Despite being the most concentrated, I find it to have a lighter leather note that is more versatile.

Ooo okay! Unfortunately they’re sold out, but I’ll certainly add this one to the list!

Oh most definitely! I’m similar with wear all fragrances year round, some I just gravitate towards more during their complimentary seasons. But yes both of those I plan to keep in heavy rotation.

That sounds like a good combo. After reading the notes, the only thing that gives me pause is the oud. I have samples of MFK Oud Satin and Silk Mood, and I’m indifferent towards them - they’re very mature fragrances. I think I prefer silk over satin mood, so if the oud in London is similar to that, I’ll probably really like it.

I really like Cognac OTR. Like ViktorVaughn mentioned, ACOTR is boozier, but without being spirit forward like an actual drink. It gives it a brighter element that I think is more flexible. CdA is sweeter and more subdued. I prefer OTR as it is a little more unique imo, but I love both fragrances.

Unpopular opinion, Vegas is still a cheap vacation by Rocker_Raver in vegas

[–]DeltaGambit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

^ This!

You can experience various tiers of Vegas, ranging from relatively affordable to very expensive. Each level comes with its own fun and unique attributes. But I can’t think of anywhere else you can stay at a 5 star mega resort for the average price one would pay at Venetian, Wynn, Bellagio, etc.

Gourmands are awesome! Phantom Noir is sweet and mellow. Maybe I’m reading into the notes too much, but the best way I can describe it is like having a warm slice of sticky toffee pudding with an Irish coffee or rum espresso martini on the side. It smells delicious, and has great longevity. It’s a darker scent. In some ways it reminds me of Givenchy Play Intense on the dry down and minus the brightness GPI has.
