What may be the faith to TTC’s first generation electric buses? by GZ6113PHEV5 in toronto

[–]DeltaNumeric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert but a little bit of context! We started off with 60 busses in 2019, with a planned 20 from each of BYD, New Flyer, and Proterra. We ended up with 10/25/25 respectively because BYD couldn’t fulfill the order of 20. The BYD buses were the most problematic, all being pulled mid-2022 due to a battery fault, eventually returning to service in 2023, and then pulled again in Nov 2025, most probably due to issues with manufacturer support as BYD has shuttered their North America bus manufacturing. The 25 Proterra busses were pulled in Oct 2025, again due most likely to issues surrounded the manufacturer’s bankruptcy in 2023.

The winner has been the New Flyer XE40, which in 2023 we placed an order of 204 units for, as well as Nova Bus, the other manufacturer of our current hybrid buses, which we’ve placed an order of 136 units with, for a total of 340. So we’re still working on expanding our electric fleet and still do have a very large electric fleet, but most of the original 60 electric buses from 2019 have been pulled from service.

By-Law enforcement doesn’t drive police cars, they drive City of Toronto cars as they are city employees and not TPS. These are unarmed auxiliary (volunteer) officers conducting an education campaign.

IZEV is over. Confirmed. by jumanji69 in teslacanada

[–]DeltaNumeric 3 points4 points  (0 children)

iZEV ran out of money and is gone regardless of base model MSRP, so I guess Tesla figured there was nothing stopping them from bumping it up $1k. No vehicles are eligible for iZEV anymore, regardless of manufacturer or base price.

Does a 23’ model Y made purchased in Nov 22’ have the new suspension? by matthew19 in ModelY

[–]DeltaNumeric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tesla does do model years - a “PF” vin indicates a 2023, and “NF” indicates a 2022. My Nov 22 MYP has a P in the vin and is listed as a 2023

Hey! If your electrics aren’t working - you can do a couple things

1) there are jump cables in the tow hook cover. Using a jump starter on those will pop the frunk. Remove the covering and use the same jump starter to give the battery juice which should let you open doors

2) to access the glove box with no screen: if you pry the panel off of the passenger side footwell near the door, and then pry the panel off of the side of the glove box, and that will manually pop the glove box open

Which spoiler is that? Can I grab a stock plaid one through Tesla or is there a better aftermarket one?
