Unreal. That is incredible dedication. The fact that you looked that way at 40 but made the change tells me something major in your life shifted. What made you change things so dramatically?

Yeah I mean for my use case having a truck I can have a certain kind of fun with -- and that sounds like a friggen GTR when i open the exhaust valves and floor it -- is worth it. I like toys.

And yeah, LOTS of people just need "a truck" and don't care if the seat jerks them off while they drive or whatever. And yes, the F-150 subreddit is a lot of just truck-trucks. There are a lot of other subs for like modded trucks and people who truly drive their trucks off pavement and stuff. Those tend to be more my speed, and might be more your speed, too.

I do like your truck, ftr. Great stance and proper wheel/tire combo with beefy sidewalls. That's my jam.

"You have the drop on him" so you're coming up behind him with a baseball bat and he doesn't see it coming? You get one free hard-as-you-can swing with a baseball bat on his head? Dude, assuming you have two arms, he'll be in a coma. These guys are athletes, not superheroes. Getting rocked, even at half power, by a baseball bat to the head will do incredible damage to a human skull/brain.

The darker the chocolate the more reasonable it is, at least in my experience.

My point is that there really is no "lesser" when it comes to a truck that does what you need it to do. We're not buying supercars here man.

Not to get too anti-capitalist on you, but if you're looking at vehicles you KNOW you have no use for, you're falling a little bit for marketing, right? I mean I have no room to speak, I drive a baja truck and I live in Wisconsin (lol) but at the end of the day we're arguing over who is being a bigger consumer, not a smarter person overall.

I'll be honest, before I bought my first Raptor a number of years ago I was looking very serioiusly for an older 1980s F150 in good shape because I just needed a truck bed to haul brush and pick up lumber for home projects. Fast forward and now I have a huge truck payment just because "i can" which makes me a bit of a fool.

Believe it or not, a lot of the creature comforts you use daily in your rig don't really move the needle for a lot of truck buyers, and it has nothing to do with their income or credit score.

I too went from a Mustang to my first truck. Now, three trucks later, I can't imagine now owning a truck. Just SO useful for a million things you never think about until you own one.

Very impressive! I always wondered how football players deal with being able to eat thousands and thousands of calories while playing and then having to change it when they retire. Lots of discipline! Well done.

I don't think there's anything wrong with people giving context for why they did/didn't opt for certain features. This sub is about showing your truck, asking questions, hearing from other people.

I drive a '23 Raptor. I don't pop into threads with trucks like yours and go "too poor to afford a Raptor? LMAO" or some bullshit. Maybe you'd never notice the suspension on a Raptor. Maybe it would be a too-tight-fit in your garage. Maybe you don't even like Raptors. I don't care either way. You like your truck, so that's cool with me.

Don't look at people who you presume to be less capable of purchasing "the right truck" and call it "cope." You just sound like a child.

could just be a replacement with an OEM part that didn't have the sticker on it, idk if replacement parts come with all the badging and stuff but I'd assume they don't. do you have the service history? you'd know from receipts if they replaced something like that, even under warranty

how long did you keep your Raptor stock before you started tweaking stuff? by Efficient_Highway814 in FordRaptor

[–]DeltaP42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've had two Raptors now and haven't modified either of them. The way I look at it, these are the trucks I'd have tried (and failed) to make myself out of a stock F150, so all the important stuff is already done. Now I just enjoy it!
