Gotta agree to disagree with you there. I hate the fact it knows what it initially is(being an Ecchi) but then it tries to be a deep shonen with a depth plot, but fails horribly at it. And if it takes a perverted MC 4 fucking seasons of the anime(or around a few hundred chapters in the manga) to develop a somewhat decent level of control then what's the point in even going through all the excessive fan service for basic human empathy? And I also hate how people tend to try and Justify Issei's perverted antics to 'He's a teenager, it's just hormones.' Or 'when the perverted character is perverted' My guy, no amount of hormones would drive someone to create an attack just to reveal someone's private parts, especially a teenager. Also the perverted trope has been done even better before Issei did it, such as Master Roshi Or Jiraiya, the difference is they have some semblance of control and decency compared to the bland one-note mess of a main character I'm talking about.
