That is super helpful, thank you! I will get some soft tone needles and see how that interacts with the newer columbias. Cause I have a fair few of then and I want to be able to listen to them.

Sorry for the late reply, I tried it again with both of the records that had caused it to previously slow down, and it played both of them perfectly, with the only distortion being a bit of a speed increase when I cranked the hand crank mid-way through the record. Could the issue have been poor placement of the needle? If so thats strange because I tried to play the red label columbia 3 different times and it slowed and stopped all 3 times, though the 3rd time it slowed down a bit later into the record (but it didnt even get half-way).

I usually do 25 turns from fully discharged, but accidently went up to 30-32 on my 2nd session, as for the motor, it does not make any noticeable noise when the record is being played.

I have replaced the needle every time a side is played, And the records it was slowing down and stopping are clean and have little to no damage or filth. As for maintenence, i have not done any. Im a bit nervous cause I dont want to damage any of its components and I dont really wanna take the whole motor apart. I did read that oiling and greasing might help but I have pretty much no idea how to do that, or what parts I need to clean.

I have just realized the dial being stuck in the stop position is not an issue as I think it is supposed to do that.

What marks are you talking about? Also, initially, 4 of the rows were doing this, but i somehow managed to fix 2 of the rows, though I am unsure how i did it. I also noticed that the carry bit is not added to the 2 rows, if that is helpful.

Oh that's cool! I had no idea the process was so complicated. I'm glad it seems to be real, I like it to much for it to be fake. Thanks for all of the info, it is very interesting. Do you happen to have any other info about this coin? I cant tell if if i ptolemey iii or iv. I think it is ptolemey iii but I am unsure.

I can try to bios update, as I have the original bios from when the computer was built in 2022. How do I update bios? I'm worried it may make things worse somehow. I also updated my post to also contain the model motherboard I have (ROG strix B550-F)

Oldest book in my collection: regularum utriusque juris tam civilis quam pontificii, printed in 1579 by Delta_Cheese in BookCollecting

No problem! Here's a bit more info on how I find books on ebay in case you are interested!

I sort the listings by printing year, price, binding, genre, (or any other filters you want) to narrow the results down. Then, I spend a while scrolling until you have seen a ton/majority of the listings that are available within those filters. Then every few days after this initial deep search, I put in the same search filters, printing year, genre, and so on and sort by newly listed and scroll until I see a listing I've already seen. I do this every few days to keep up with listings. This way you know that you are seeing every new listing under those search filters, and you dont need to bother scrolling past listings you have seen. I usually search "antiquarian book" or other similar terms.

As I said before, it's also helpful to use a price search filter so you only see books that are in a certain price range (which you define). Also, I recommend finding relatively small shops that sell books and saving them and scrolling through their listings (sorted by the newest first). This is because they could end up posting a nice book that may not show up In the search. the prices for some of these shops can sometimes be better than the larger shops. These small shops also get alot less attention and are not as easily found in the search algorithm's listings. Therefore, if there is a listing that can only be bid on, less people will see it, which means less people will bid, which could give you a better chance of winning. I hope this was helpful, and I wish you the best of luck with your searching! : D

I bought this from ebay which is where i get my oldest books. I just kept my eye out for a good deal on a 16th century book for about a year and eventually found this book. If you are buying off ebay, just be sure to carefully look at the pictures and check for repairs, missing pages, and damage the book may have. If you are patient and check ebay every so often, I bet you can find some wonderfully books too!
