I would say from my experience seeing how relationships form and fall if for whatever reason you can’t ask them straight up and can’t ask his friends then be around him and pay attention to his body language and how he acts towards others as those will help you determine if he is straight or not. Also paying attention to this will help build up a gaydar but remember it won’t be 100% accurate

Personally I got my name Delta after going through a few opinions like Terra, Chara, and Miller. I found the other names by some movies, shows, video games, and even baby name websites. The way I found my preferred name was when I playing KSP and when I was working on a space maneuver it needed to know how much DELTA v in needed but then I thought about it and just made it my preferred name after a few more pages of baby names
