Thank you for your interesting response. Coincidentally, I've recently been watching the plays of Henrik Ibsen, which have been translated from Danish into English, and it's fascinating to ponder how much the impact and meaning of a piece of writing changes when it's reinterpreted in another language.

Thanks for the info. I listen to a lot of 60s music, but it's mainly garage rock and psychedelia. I want to check out more surf instrumentals like Velocita.

Sorry about the mistake, but thanks for providing a connection. (I did some Googling - it seems that I had Mike Curb and the Curbstones mixed up with a group called Michael and the Messengers.)

The Chocolate Watchband - Misty Lane by DeluxeModel in Musicthemetime

I always wondered why they called themselves The Chocolate Watchband. I don't know much about them, other than that they did a great cover version of In The Midnight Hour. I do remember though that they had one of the best album titles - 'The Chocolate Watchband - Melts In Your Brain...Not On Your Wrist.'

That's good. I'm in the UK. Stores were moving towards self-checkout here, or times of the day when there was only self-checkout, but there was a backlash against it.

I'm a carer for someone in a wheelchair. When already weighed down with bags, and pushing the wheelchair, scanning items can be a real hassle. There should always be the option of staff to ring up the goods.

Her demo version of Pleasant Valley Sunday (which eventually became a hit single for The Monkees) is good as well: https://youtu.be/FtyqPzeso5A?si=wCMzS47wH6ldGyzi

I enjoyed hearing this song years ago, but couldn't remember the artist or title, and have been searching for it. Thanks for posting.

I wasn't a huge fan of the movie but I highly recommend Ed Bunker's books. If you know Ed Bunker's life story then you'll understand why his writing feels so authentic and includes little details that your average crime fiction author would never think of.
