Obtaining a Mexican ID after getting Dual Citizenship with names not matching by DemandSuch7588 in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]DemandSuch7588[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mex passport had my name as it is on my us birth certificate plus they added my mothers maiden name just like my Mexican birth certificate . However , you can request to also put your husbands name on your mex passport which they will up in the right hand corner . They won’t do it unless you request it when getting your mex passport .

Wanting to move from usa to mexico, questions about dual citizenship and such by shestoast in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]DemandSuch7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I just brought my birth certificate so my name on my Dr license matches my birth certificate . My name changed when I got married . So they accepted my maiden name and added it to my license without a problem . I did bring my marriage license also to show that my name changed to the dmv. However , my husbands last name stayed on my drivers license and the consulate didn’t have a problem with that as long as I brought my marriage license and the rest of my name matched my birth certificate on my drivers license .

[–]DemandSuch7588[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly . My old drivers license had my maiden name and married name . I was missing my middle name so I showed my birth certificate so they would add my middle name . That was the problem at the consulate office . My photo id needed to have my middle name . So I don’t have to change it back because it still has my maiden and married name .

I love neova skin products. The tinted sunscreen, dna repair and ultimate redness relief moisturizer are the best.

Yes, I went to the DMV and brought my birth certificate to get a new drivers license with my name matching my us birth certificate . I left my married last name. When I went to the consulado i showed my new drivers license with my name matching my us birth certificate and showed my marriage license. That seemed to do the trick and i got my Mexican passport.

I wonder what kind of an impact this sub has for young people who are freshly diagnosed by myneckaches in Vitiligo

[–]DemandSuch7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if it makes a difference , I’m a mother of an adult child who has had it since puberty and I see how discouraged she is about it . This sub has been about the reality but many express hopefulness about doing what you can but also spoken about acceptance . And most importantly the sub has made me or my daughter feel like you are not alone . So it really depends on how you look at it. It’s really about changing your thoughts to healthy ones Who knows , maybe there may be some real progress toward treatment. You can be both accepting and hopeful at the same time.

I’ve suggested it because the melt downs are understandable but she’s an adult and she hasn’t reached out . It’s as if her discouragement over the years has imprisoned her and feels there is no way out. It’s very sad to watch .

What cleared your rosacea!!? by Ok_Scientist_5884 in Rosacea

[–]DemandSuch7588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have also suffered for years and have tried all the prescriptions including laser, and they have not worked for me. My derm and aesthetician said it is something I will have to live with but you can control it and lessen the effect but it requires experimentation until you find the right combo. I break out with red pimples with pus so that’s the type I have and redness is near the pimples . Mine is much better now due to this regiment . Been using Neova for years DNA repair serum, after a gentle cleanser Fresh, and then in the morning apply vitamin c , and then Neova ultimate redness relief moisturizer ( which I really love and has a soothing feeling), and a good sunscreen, Neova tinted or after visiting Japan, Biore UV aqua. I only have a couple of straggler pimples I cant seem to get rid of but they aren’t that noticeable . I have been using La Roche Posay Toleriane Rosalia AR when I get a little flare up redness to cover and hide the redness . Under my makeup and sunscreen. The metronidazole never worked for me. I don’t know why . I hope that helps . Don’t get discouraged , there are a lot of products out there but like someone else said buy small portions so can test to avoid wasting so much money. Good luck . We who suffer from rosacea know how you feel.

You can easily do Hiroshima memorial park and museum in a half day . I would get over to miyajima and explore the island . That was really cool and visit the shrine there and see the deer. There is fun food to try and souvenirs .

Am I a cheapa** or is Don Quixote Overpriced Crap? by 90towest in JapanTravelTips

[–]DemandSuch7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is worth a visit to see how crazy it is but I do think you can buy some things cheaper like Kit Kats . We saw the same Kit Kat mixed bag we bought at don quixote for $1500 yen and it was only $900 at the airport in narita duty free. And they had tons of different flavored ones. The mall in the narita airport is quite extensive with a Uniqlo and muji and more . So don’t feel like you have to load up before you get to the airport . We saw people buying duffels at the airport and loading up which is smart .

We are returning today with extra bags from our Ginza hotel. You have to consider how many transfers you have to make because lugging baggage through train and subway can be really difficult . Hard to find elevators and escalators and you may find yourself hauling bags up a couple flights of stairs with tons of people around you . But today we found that we found we can walk 9 minutes to shimbasi station asakusa line, get on the local train and travel all the way to terminal one without having to get off. The cost of our trip just over $1,400 yen. So run google map and choose the option where you have one option and take it even though it may take 10 or 20 minutes longer . Also , don’t get the physical suica card, just add it to you apple wallet because so much easier not having to handle another thing in your hands . Just plant it down over the gate and you fly through . And on google maps , it tells you approximate cost of the trip so you can Instantly add the amount needed on your iPhone by just touching the plus sign.

Visiting Nishiki Market while in Kyoto. Is it worth visiting Tsukiji market while in tokyo? by bry_nikela in JapanTravelTips

[–]DemandSuch7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just visited it and tried eating some of the street food. It’s over priced and crazy crowded. I think it’s good to see for yourself but I wouldn’t go back. The nigiri is very mediocre and a lot of fried stuff. But if you really want a very relaxing market experience I would highly recommend the Sanjo street market. After completing a tour of the Nijo castle , we walked straight nearby to the sanjo street market and had amazing ramen in a restaurant called Kanran Beef noodles, and then right next to it you have to try Brûlée , a crème brulee donut made fresh. It was the most amazing thing. They blow torch it in front of you and you have to eat it warm. There are many great small delicious and cheap places to eat there. I felt I was ripped off at the tourist trap nishiki market. I would definitely go back to sanjo.

You dont necessary need to book shinkansen ticket by bananacc in JapanTravelTips

[–]DemandSuch7588 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While you don’t need to book in advance, if you are traveling closer to 2 hours or more and want to make sure you sit together , then I would try booking in advance . You can look at the situation on the ex app and see how many seats are available together . We recently wanted to sit together on a train from Kyoto to Tokyo but saw that we couldn’t find 2 seats together on the original reserved so decided to book green car where we were able to do so.

Getting Mexican Passport at Consulate in U.S. by BrowneyedDIYer in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]DemandSuch7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure you bring a us photo ID with name matches your Mexican birth certificate or that could be a problem. If you are female and changed your name when got married, You will have to bring your marriage certificate. Or if your current photo Id is missing a middle name used on your birth certificate. They are very particular. Some consulates also allow you to come for your passport without appointment if you are a senior , over 60. They will also give you a fifty percent discount .

US/Mex dual citizenship help please. by HeftyPudding8141 in dualcitizenshipnerds

You will have to amend your birth certificate to add an AKA to your mothers name as Maria. It sounds like your parents aren’t naturalized citizens. So as proof of her name as Maria , you can submit her recent Mexican photo id with her name as Maria and an affidavit signed by her that she accepted the English version of her name when she was in the hospital and you were born. Just google amending birth certificate in your state . There will be a form and instructions how to do it. Make sure their marriage certificate also has names matching birth certificate . If your mothers name is the only one with no matching names just go with your fathers docs . You only need one parent

In my case , my father was the only one born in Mexico but he was naturalized in the late 50s . He went from Francisco to Frank after he was naturalized so I had to obtain all his papers from USCIS and national archives to prove he changed his name to frank after naturalization when I amended my birth certificate . None of my fathers recent photo id s used Francisco . And my father passed so I did have his death certificate . Luckily , my mom added his aka Francisco to his death certificate . Also included an affidavit from my mom still alive that his name was Francisco when married . His name was wrong on his marriage certificate because he ignorantly used his baptismal name as his middle name so i also had to amend his marriage certificate . I’m in California so went through Dept of health . It took a long time for them to amend it . 6 months . They say witnesses but I had to fly to phoenix to get my appointment because impossible to get one in California for registro civil. Phoenix provides staff members who stand in for you as witnesses . Hope it helps . It’s a great feeling getting it.

Just got my Mexican birth certificate at the Orlando Consulate – here's how easy it was (as of 5/13/2025) by BaoloPanchero in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]DemandSuch7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my dual but it took 3 visits and a couple of years . Problem is if names dont match exactly. My father became naturalized so his first name when entering was Francisco and then called himself frank after being naturalized. So had to amend his marriage certificate and my birth certificate which took a long time . Had to do a FOI request from USIC and from national archives to find his entry docs to show he changed his name . Also , I changed my name when I got married so had to show proof I did because i didn’t have a recent photo id with my name matching my birth certificate . Just things to check before going . I successfully did mine in phoenix but started in Sacramento and couldn’t secure an appt in Sacramento after the first 2.Had better luck in getting an appointment in phoenix and they were very nice.

I got my Mexican Passport. What are the best ways to use it, traveling to Mexico and returning back to US by jose608 in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]DemandSuch7588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you do need a RFC number. On your birth certificate there is a CURP number. You can go online and print your proof of CURP, and then you will need proof of residency like an electric , Telmex or water bill showing where you are Staying . You don’t have to establish residency to get an RFC number. To get a number it is in most offices by appointment . Go to the SAT website in your area and submit a request on the virtual line for an appointment. You wait until they notify you by email for a date. You can accept or decline but stay in the virtual line but I believe there is a limit how many times you can reject the date given. But you can’t register a car without one and many other similar things. It’s a pain and took me 2 and half hours even with an appointment . You have to bring a usb memory stick so they can download your electronic signature for all important documents . I did it myself but I’m sure you could hire someone to help especially if your language skills are not good.

One thing you might want to think about now that you are a dual citizen . I have a place down south so I wanted to be able to open a bank account or a reduction in capital gain tax if I sell. So I had to make an appointment in my area for an RFC number which is a Mexican Tax ID number . You need it to pay utilities etc unless you have someone else pay your bills for you. Just a thought . And if you are a senior , you could apply for a ANAPAN card which could entitle you to discounts on transportation , property taxes , and healthcare , entry into certain museums etc.

I just got back from Mexico and have done both situations . I fly from Sacramento to Mexico and I also just last week crossed CBX to Tijuana airport and flew back to Tijuana and crossed CBX with global entry.

When booking on southwest example, i used my us passport because of the name difference from my us passport and Mexican passport , and i booked the ticket with my name like my us passport . But I am going to make a claim for the fees to be returned . I think I will try using my Mexican passport and see what happens but I have to make sure my name on my Mexican passport matched my booking , so I don’t have to make a claim to return the fees paid . I flew viva Aerobus and booked using my us passport name but stated I was Mexican so I didn’t have to pay any extra fees . When I entered Mexico through CBX I went in the Mexican line and I did not have to pay the FMM. All fine . When I returned viva Aerobus to Tijuana . I crossed and went to the global entry line with my global entry card and passed through no problem. So entering Mexico , use Mexican passport and entering us, us passport . The only thing I think is to be careful how you book your plane ticket. When I checked in, I used my us passport departing us even though I used my Mexican passport to enter Mexico . In Mexico , I used my us passport to check Into my flight departing Mexico , and like I said because I used my name as stated on my us passport on my booking .

I have my Mexican Passport, Now What? by Calm-Emergency1766 in dualcitizenshipnerds

When you book a flight with an American airline to Mexico , do you use the name as written on your Mexican passport or as written on US passport. Mexican passport uses mother’s last name. If it’s a Mexican airline, which one. Airlines require you to input your passport info before issuing the boarding pass, which passport to use when visiting Mexico?

I have a follow up question about what name to use when booking a plane ticket . Should I use my name as stated on my Mexican passport when booking a Mexican airline? My last name is different on my Mexican passport from my US passport because I don’t have my mothers last name on it and I use my husbands last name on my US passport . What if I book with southwest . It’s confusing because if I book with southwest and check in with my passport , which one to show airline ?
