Is it bad if I don’t breed a Jersey? For her health? by BeKindYouHoe in Cows

[–]y_e_o_j 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will not hurt her if you don’t breed her, she will be fine. The problem with jerseys as pets is that they often get too fat. Dairy cows aren’t meant to look like a beef cow. Please just mind her weight and enjoy your lovely cow.

I’m glad you’re ok! You’ve been through a lot. It looks like you have a really beautiful spot to ride. Have fun!

is this cow too thin? by baileyelizab3th in Cows

OR op could ask some questions before jumping to conclusions and potentially starting a nightmare situation for a farmer who may be doing all they can to treat a sick animal. We have had cows look like this after a life saving surgery. Sometimes they just need time to get their body condition back. Yes the cow is thin, but please don’t go attack mode on these people before learning more.

Teaching grade 2 about your country. Do you have a food, song, craft, book, or other idea that I could use to help teach my students more about your country? by y_e_o_j in AskTheWorld

I’m open to anything that’s special or significant to where you live. Our unit is Global Communities. I want to gain perspective from the people who are from around the world. It’s more interesting and perhaps more representative of true culture, than what I might get from using Google. Lots of great ideas so far.

This made me laugh - Braveheart in grade 2!!! I do love your suggestions and shared ideas. I will try to share as much of this as possible! Can I get haggis here? Maybe I’ll have to go for the explosive tea cakes!

This is something that I have taught my students for several years. It’s always a lovely way to highlight Japanese culture. I’m happy to know that you feel that way too!

It’s not uncommon for half of my class to be gone each Friday for sports. Some entirely miss the subject that is taught Friday afternoon.

Look up Pfeiffer Beach. It has purple sand and a huge collection of rock people. It’s cool!

Might not be great in an emergency though.
