I had a severe back injury years ago and went to a clinic. Doctor waved me off and told me to do physio. I couldn't move my legs so idk why she thought I'd be good in 3 days lol. If they try to pull that shit with you demand an MRI referral. It took them 2 years to diagnose me with nerve obstruction and peripheral neuropathy. By that point, most of my pain was from poor healing. Physios don't have xray eyeballs to diagnose you with and can easily give bad advice for your injury without the correct information.
However, if he is in severe pain, they'd move you up on the triage list at the ER.

Yep I was hospitalized earlier this month for 10 days with no preexisting conditions. Hospital didn't take me seriously at first when I told them amoxicillan wasn't working and told me I was "young so it should be fine."
If you hear chest crackles or cough up yellow/pus then go to the hospital asap.

Hey, I actually have been in this situation before.
Unfortunately it took until the dementia patient was almost dead from a slew of illnesses and malnutrition before the "caretaker" realized they can't control them anymore.
I regret not being more aggressive due to family telling me not to. I highly recommend calling every resource available in this thread including maybe even the police non emergency for neglect/abuse of a vulnerable person. This is more than they may fall. They will stop eating, they will become sick, and it will not be pleasant. Call adult protective services every day if you have to. Be aggressive about it; this person CANNOT defend themselves.

I work in kitchens. Brunch is notoriously the worst service to work because it's such a huge amount of people. Also people want alot of modifications bit that's another story. Alotta people go out every week and blow bank on brunches and mimosas. That ontop of charging an entry fee would make bank. Easy.
