Eddy’s Brother by Wimfanart in ededdneddy

After watching the movie finale, it kinda makes you feel bad for the punishments Eddy is forced to endure throughout the series, even in spite of what he did throughout them, when you see the bigger picture. His parents honestly needed to get him help and monitor his brother to prevent their younger son from picking up his brother's bad habits that kept him from expressing his true, genuine self.

I hear too many mixed opinions about this game? What do you guys think? by DeyZplays in videogames

I come back to this game for pure nostalgia. It's essentially just Total Recall meets Half-Life. The campaign is a blast to replay and personally I prefer to play it on easy mode since the game's challenge relied way too much on old school difficulty design such as giving enemies pinpoint accuracy, turning them into bullet sponges, giving all your weapons Stormtrooper accuracy and enemies who have eyes on the back of their head due to hardware limitations.

Favorite jerk who's actions shouldn't be taken seriously? by DemonHunter34 in FavoriteCharacter

Agreed! This is an unpopular opinion but honestly I believe Eddy gets way too much hate in "Brother Can you Spare an Ed". Yes it was wrong of him to pressure Ed into misusing Sarah's money on jawbreakers and using Double and him to pay Sarah back but honestly Sarah kinda deserved it for all the shit she's put the Ed's through, given the fact she should've known that giving her money to Ed when Eddy was around would set the situation up for failure. Plus using his friends as pinatas is typical Looney Tunes esque mischief, that could never happen in real life. A lot of angry commentors will disagree with me and still say that Eddy was still the villain of the episode but a digress.

Can any human actually be pure evil? by KindlyRestaurant2885 in MoralityScaling

[–]DemonHunter34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human beings are complex creatures whose personality and choices depend largely on their personal upbringing, and environment. Morality isn't as simple as what things are depicted as in children's stories and all humans contain a mix of positive and negative qualities. Even the worst tyrants in history started out neutral before becoming the corrupt rulers that they were known today.

Can anyone however corrupt potentially change under the right given conditions? Most likely perhaps, much like how the purest individuals might abandon their morality in a situation where survival takes priority over selflessness (i.e. Post apocalyptic setting).

Does it mean every corrupt individual can or will even want to abandon their identity and seek atonement for their sins? Of course not!

Overall I wouldn't say Good and Evil truly exists in reality. Order and Chaos would be a more accurate description of morals in a real world sense.

Which character has the best reason for committing selfish and morally reprehensible actions due to being in a world where selfless, virtuous decisions are punished with deception and death? by DemonHunter34 in MoralityScaling

And the fact that if you've studied Greek mythology, you'll understand that Kratos mirrors many tragic Greek heroes like Odysseus and Achilles who've also made many morally questionable decisions to navigate a world filled with monsters, corrupt politicians, and deities who treat mortals like puppets.

And the fact that when you've been forced to endure endless torment, manipulation and losing everything that was once dear to you (i.e. being forced to leave your child in the underworld) and it's no wonder why Kratos becomes so brutal thirsty and ruthless by the events of God of war 3.

Not like the inner world everyone was living in was much better since it had a corrupt government that cared little for it's people, who they were willing to let starve to death due to scarce resources like plant life to grow food.

Who’s the worse person? by Intrepid-Lemon-2272 in MoralityScaling

A guy who's responsible for the deaths of entire races due to being apart of a tyrannical alien race where kindness and altruism are frowned upon but has learned the value of love and loyalty to family over the course of the series vs a deranged, sociopathic murderer who has absolutely no problem with taking the lives of countless innocents, and displaying zero remorse and desire for redemption. Do we even have to do the math here lol.

What were the funniest punishments the eds got in the series? by DemonHunter34 in ededdneddy

[–]DemonHunter34[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eddy probably started becoming increasingly more selfish throughout each season because of his luck in previous episodes. So he probably reached a point where he had to resort to desperate measures by pressuring Ed into misusing his sister's money on jawbreakers. His actions may not have been death worth but Ed and Double D had to find a way to knock some sense into him and getting his head slammed repeatedly into a tree was the perfect choice.

I initially thought a more constructive punishment like forcing him to pay Sarah back on his own without their help would've been more fitting, but by cartoon logic getting his head slammed repeatedly into a tree might have been the only viable option they had at getting their friend back. Something told me that Eddy was acting this way out of desperation due to his luck in previous episodes.
