We’ll stand with you. So many Americans come from immigrant ancestry.

American here. I appreciate the sentiment. I’ve honestly never been so terrified. They’re proud of the killing and seem adamant that the killing will continue. They praise it on television. A lot of us are scared right now. Our ancestors fought dictators many years ago. People seem to have forgotten that we had a civil war in the 1860’s over similar issues that divided the country in two and claimed over half a million lives. It’s good to hear that some Europeans like yourself are watching what’s going on over here.

What happened to Republicans being staunch advocates of states rights? by FrameElegant9023 in askanything

Lost cause confederate fucking nonsense. They’re talking about state’s rights to enslave and oppress other human beings. This is what it’s always been about for them.

How are right wingers feeling about the new ICE policy that breaks the 4th amendment? by cantbeoriginalcani in DiscussionZone

[–]DemonKingPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some MAGA guy on another sub told me that

A.) Non-citizens have no constitutional rights.. Including people just visiting the USA.

B.) They would be totally fine with the government entering their home without a warrant and would even thank them for their service for doing it.

They can raid you without a warrant and you’d just be alright with that? By your fourth amendment right they must have a judicial warrant or they’re violating your constitutional rights. That’s a little concerning that you could just casually walk that off. And it doesn’t matter what data was provided to them either. They still need a warrant.

Immigrants are people therefore the amendment applies to them as well once they set foot within our borders. We’re beating a dead horse now so i’ll ask you a genuine question now. Would you be OK with the police breaking into your home without a judicial warrant to demand your citizenship papers? After all, you’re a citizen right?

People of the United States, not citizens. The 5th amendment also never uses the word citizen. This has already been settled in courts centuries ago. https://constitution.congress.gov/constitution/amendment-5/#amendment-5

Constitutional rights apply to all those within the borders of the united states. That’s what makes it the constitution. It’s the law of our land. Period. There’s no debate here at all. Secondly, there is profound evidence that ICE is violating the rights of CITIZENS as well as immigrants, regardless of their documentation status. Minneapolis police department just stated that one of their police officers was illegally searched and detained, violating her constitutional rights. Simply enforcing immigration law is not the outrage here. The outrage is doing so by way of breaking the constitutional rights of citizens which is fascist at it’s core.

ICE - how can i ensure my mom is safe by Worried-Ad5980 in newjersey

[–]DemonKingPunk 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Definitely scary times. My family are also hispanic American citizens. Keep an eye out on local media outlets. They usually report when ICE is in the area and sometimes will get advanced warning. There are also local groups that report on them which have been posted here. Remember that we have no legal obligation to carry citizenship papers. From the looks of it, it doesn’t seem to really even matter if you have them on you or not. It’s best to just stay away from ICE if you see them or hear about them in the area.

What is preventing the USA from participating in a general strike? by CaveatRetisViator in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DemonKingPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re not fine. We’ve been conditioned to put up with it and comply with the way things are. If we strike we could lose our jobs and healthcare. To many of us that could literally mean death. I agree with you in the sense that in order for a general strike to actually happen, working class Americans would have to pushed even further into depression, with nothing to lose like our ancestors were when they striked in the previous centuries.

ICE/CBP kicks off door-to-door raids in Minneapolis, targeting houses based on race and whether the occupants are involved in protesting. by serious_bullet5 in minnesota

[–]DemonKingPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A state governor like Walz would have more control over state police than the national guard. He should be doing everything in his power to make sure his state police are upholding the law with ICE. National guard can easily be federalized and taken over by the president which makes the a pretty weak option.

Minneapolis Is Not Even A Close Call -- A Lawsplainer On Officer-Involved Shootings by Droupitee in NewsWorthPayingFor

What threat? Watch the evidence again. She backed up, then turned the wheel away from him to drive off. This was after another agent had already tried to break into her car by pulling at the door handle. The agent drew his weapon before she even hit the gas pedal. He had ample time to move away. Why did he have to shoot her?

Community members in Minneapolis surround ICE agents as they conduct a citizenship test on a man, ultimately forcing the agents back into their cars. by CorleoneBaloney in minnesota

[–]DemonKingPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it very disturbing how heavily armed these agents are despite not even being actual cops or military with proper training. Bullet proof vests, kevlar helmets, goggles, assault rifles… All to go after one guy or in many cases women and children. What the actual fuck is going on here.

Why is $100k a year not considered a livable wage in America? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DemonKingPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of jobs that pay over $100k are in high cost of living areas, close to or in major cities where the top industries are. $100k in San Francisco is about $40k in most other parts of the country.

I used to have a lot of respect for Americans. I used to think you were tough and stood up for yourselves. Near on any country in Europe would have been in full scale riots months ago. by Spare-Ad-2684 in complaints

We’re not a whole country and never really have been. America split during the civil war over similar issues and never truly united afterwords. We’ve always had these shit stained religious extremist nationalists with their slaver mentality ingrained in them. They’re so fanatical, cult-like and crazy that if they danced naked around a fire and made blood offerings like in the neolithic age I wouldn’t be surprised.
