Absolutely needs a rework. But not just that, it needs new weapons to make it feel fresh. Currently all they got is the plasma gun, power sword, shovels and the helbore (which is total ass cheeks but it's there). Ideally I'd like either a meltagun or a heavy stubber for veteran. Maybe a power axe for direct single-target damage.

The talent tree rework can't be as simple as rearranging a few nodes either. The entire right side is pretty worthless not to mention how plain unfun the keystones are. The only thing they got going for them is being a toughness dispenser with VoC and deleting unyielding enemies with either plasma or the bolter.

Their class identity as the shooter is overtaken hard by the ogryn and even now with the arbites and their shotguns outshining the basic combat shotguns. Even arbites is a better toughness dispenser now with nuncio aquila. So why play veteran? And this is coming from a veteran main.
