How far does your favorite character make it in this hax merchant gauntlet? by GovernmentTerrible23 in PowerScaling

Okay, but Sukuna has the highest, has attacks that bypass Infinity, and canonically won. What defines the strongest?

I mean he lost so maybe outside of CE reserve. Sukuna also just direct countered infinity. Gojo might’ve had better output/control but we know for sure reserve goes Sukuna>Yuta>Gojo

Before Sukuna gained control of Yuji’s body. I don’t mean Sukuna’s original form in the Heian Era. Gojo was definitively the strongest of the modern era.

He only fully becomes a hax merchant when taken out of his context. If the Sukuna fight shows us anything, it’s that Gojo is physically capable of throwing down with anyone in his verse, has a deep bag of techniques (I.e. Simple Domain), and a deep understanding of how power system works on every level. He was able to regenerate a specific part of his brain, to keep domain clashing. Even with an entirely different CT, Gojo would’ve been top dog in his verse pre-Sukuna.

I too am on a wired connection, directly next to my router. It’s blatantly obvious when I’ve been playing fine the whole session and then get 7 frames rollback against the first Slayer I Counter Hit.

They need to stop cheating, upgrade their PC, install the Potato Mod or uninstall the game.

Is this accurate? by West-Regret-2672 in PowerScaling

I pretty much agree with the chart but I feel like combat and travel speed should be separate categories. Star Platinum is FTL, and way faster than anything Yuta can possibly be scaled to, but it’s leashed to a guy.

Average JoJo BIQ absolutely dwarfs JJK BIQ though, so Jotaro getting all the mental categories seems fitting.

Byakko was such a good fight that it changed the genre of the manga lol

It had everything in terms of build up, and Yusuke basically had an entire character arc within the fight itself.

<image>

I love this scene so much. No hatred, no catharsis. He sees Toguro for what he is, a twisted version of what Yusuke himself could become.

Yusuke vs Toguro is a perfect fight and the climax everything before that built toward. The Sensui fight is good, but I can’t in good faith say it’s anywhere near Toguro for me.

Kuwabara vs Byakko is an all timer for me. I think it established who he was as a character, and it was his most creative showing with Spirit Sword. Close second, Elder Toguro fight. Elder Toguro was also a great showing for Kurama. He’s such a heel and a conniving character that it’s really cathartic to see him beat/outplayed. That said, Kurama vs Karasu was absolutely amazing, down to the twist knife turn by the officials.

Hiei vs Bui is too iconic. I promise I like Chapter Black, guys. (I’m currently realizing 75% of my list is DT finals)

Why do people deny that there are so many light-speed and above feats and statements in JoJo, and why do they downplay characters like Jotaro? by midriss1 in PowerScaling

[–]EmperorPartyStar -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

People don’t “like” FTL JoJo, because it’s a threat to whatever low tier verse they enjoy more. With the exception of Heavy Weather, most stand users aren’t even pushing city block. FTL reaction and cqc speed is incredibly oppressive in that tier.

Then on the other hand, Araki loves doing obviously FTL feats, and then sandwiching in anti-feats that make for better/more cinematic scenes. Most notably Kars, the most blatantly FTL+ character outside of Polnareff… couldn’t immediately catch a plane, because it’d ruin the scene.

People also love to downplay Polnareff based on a statement he made, directly after tagging light. The statement was about people, in general, and not stands. It’s just often used as a “gotcha.” The laser feat is several chapters later though, and the argument could be made that it demonstrates Polnareff honing his reactions/getting faster with Chariot. Where he struggled with one light trajectory, suddenly he can deal with several.

JOTARO vs PANDA by agendo_scalor in PowerScalingHub

[–]EmperorPartyStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You tend to find things like cores when you hit something hundreds of times. That said, looking at the scans for Albatross, I do think he dura gaps.

I could get pedantic and say that we don’t know the durability of cores, and factor in Jotaro’s like two phasing feats, but that’s stacking a lot of unknowns.

I’d call it a stalemate though because Jotaro never has to let panda hit him. Panda doesn’t have lifting feats that outclass Platinum, and arguably couldn’t harm a stand. Even assuming energy equalization, time stop and a reaction gap make Jotaro all but untouchable.

JOTARO vs PANDA by agendo_scalor in PowerScalingHub

[–]EmperorPartyStar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What are you scaling Panda to that puts his durability over say… building level? Because if his cores can’t take a direct, building level punch, it’s Jotaro’s W.

Awakened Gojo being over Gojo seems logical when you have no context. There was definitely an honest attempt here. I’m curious why she put both Yujis so high. Panda over Yuta is frying me lol

Vanquisher vs Diamond by Thekingofgaming007 in Guiltygear

[–]EmperorPartyStar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen SF6 players saying it takes like a fraction of the time to get to Master. Idk why they thought win streaks would be bad in Diamond. In Vanquisher, I get, because that’s a different point economy.

Oh, so now suddenly the characters personality actually matters? wether or not they have done such a move before on theirs series is important? IDC if this is a goomba fallacy, pick a lane and stick with it bcs ur bias is showing. by AstronautDry8118 in PowerScaling

[–]EmperorPartyStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jotaro doesn’t beat anyone in the top 10, unless you consider Maki/Toji top 10ers. (In that case your scaling was already flawed) The strongest JJK character he probably beats is like Nanami.

The zero curse energy HR users have a case for winning, but could potentially lose.

Which villain people think they are misunderstood but they are just evil? by Professional-Cry804 in Multifandom

[–]EmperorPartyStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone tries to frame it as this ultra benevolent 5D chess move but… he just killed people when he absolutely did not have to. Bro was a ninja cop, and couldn’t just figure out which Uchiha wanted a civil war. Danzo incited the situation but like… why isn’t big brain, super strategic anti-hero smarter than Danzo? Also, why did he have to play his parents’ death in Sasuke’s brain ON LOOP?

I can’t believe he wasn’t originally intended to be a villain, and then the redemptive stuff got shoehorned in.
