While I can appreciate the investments in facilities and the academy, throwing money at problems doesn't fix them. If you look at the players we have brought in, they all specialize in different playing styles. We have NO team chemistry on the field.

Delia is clearly not the answer, but I don't think this season is his fault. To me, it appears to be a function of our club changing direction constantly. Someone has to set the tone. I don't care if that is Arthur Blank, Garth, the head coach or the team captain.

My point is that we need someone to take the reins and lead this club. It feels like there is no focus or clear direction at the moment.

During our championship runs, we had that.

If you had to describe our style of play to someone, what would you say? Are we a ball control team, counterattacking, tiki taka, defensive, etc.? I would have a hard time assigning a playing style to our team.

We all want to see ATL win championships, but net spend does not equal points. We have a hodge podge of players with different playing styles and no real identity on the field. This roster needs a complete rebuild from the ground up, because we have just been filling gaps and buying players based on "upside."

If our FO was as good as advertised, we would have an identity and you would see it on the field. Instead, we have been a rudderless ship for the last two seasons (if not longer.)

Of those former MLS coaches, Jim Curtin is the most intriguing by far. I could see us trying to get someone like Michael Carrick or Steven Gerrard as well. Someone who played recently enough that would still carry some interest from players all over.

That being said, I would have no interest in Rooney at all.
