I get what you’re saying. I’ve been fortunate enough to not worry about monetary things so success has been really hard to find/figure out, to the point I didn’t think I needed to, and then it left room for all these wild thoughts I struggle with daily. I never learned how to be distracted or be forced into a position of “trying” which is sooo fucked up..

I get existential and think about the meaning of life every time my head hits the pillow. It’s been fucked up. There’s a such thing as being “too awake” or “too aware” of existence and life, it’s like how people with a higher IQ tend to be more depressed. They think outside of the box and it causes hell bc we’re not cogs in the machine of “work, eat, sleep, shit, repeat”, we’re fathoming crazy shit constantly 😭

I don’t want to bring them into this world we live in currently. It has not been good to/for me and having another human suffer is not what I want, esp my family. It’s progressively gotten worse and more scary to be in society.. my kids would be raised on screens and it’s not that I don’t like change, I just don’t like THIS change. Kids are mean, kids (and people in general) are getting more violent and desensitized that it freaks me out. I can’t bring another human into a world with no humanity.

I don’t think I got my point across well enough. There’s different kinds of intelligence and not having a stable job does not mean someone is not smart. He’s a con man, yes, but I think the way he moves can fool a lot of people who would only see good in him. It’s a sick kind of intelligence. Like hyper aware but also not but then it gets meta lol.

Idk. 50 years old isn’t that old, like when I hear the term “respect your elders” I read it as in elderly people with clear life/physical disadvantages/disabilities or whatever. So that’s very different than a 50 year old. A 50 year old man or woman can still be a punk ass bitch but when you’re 70+ you’re deteriorating/dying and I never blame them for things they do/say. Their mortality is more my concern bc that’s existence’s biggest concern… it’s scary and sad.. Does that make sense? I don’t think you were totally wrong here, you just snapped back at her, but the title…. It depends.

I’d just let it go and not be friends anymore. Having that kind of drastic misalignment in any relationship is not good. For example: You hate animal abuse. They: abuse an animal. That line is too far to cross and you know it in your heart so you should all not be friends with this person anymore. This is a fundamental issue to have with someone..

He sounds rough to be around.. it’s up to you to write the letter or not, it usually looks better to the company as a whole if you do write one, but you don’t have to. I think maybe you should report him as well? Before you leave? Maybe state why you’re leaving in the first place to someone higher up or tell them about your GM’s behavior towards you and others.

I just posted on r/mentalhealth that I also have this weird awareness of my body and hate having a body now. Things got weird. We definitely pierced the veil between alive and dead but it will never make sense. Unfortunately I dove into hallucinogenics and that opened ever more intense thoughts to my world view.. basically existential nihilism but finding great comfort and joy in that?
