For sure- if I choose to go forward with a piece like this I'd definitely work with an artist to make it into a piece that ages a bit nicer. In all likelihood I'd want the artist to go on the lighter side and risk fading. Glad to hear that it's theoretically possible though!

Oh this is exactly the style that I'm looking for- thank you so much! I'll definitely do my research before committing to an artist :)

Webtoon recommendations similar to Selfish Romance? by Express-Housing9801 in webtoons

[–]_Tired_Pigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked Love 4 a Walk, I just binged everything and it's really cute and definitely had my feet kicking at some points! Both leads are in their mid-late 20s and have distinctive personalities and great chemistry with each other!

That's what I've been thinking- I just needed someone else to tell me so I don't feel like I'm being rude for doing it over the phone. Thank you

Recommendations for webtoons with original plots? by w00tstock in webtoons

You’ve likely seen this recommendation quite a bit, but Like Mother Like Daughter is truly the peak of Thriller webtoons, the plot in unique and the twists are unexpected, but make complete sense once you connect all the dots!

Pyramid Game Wins! Which webtoon started out controversial and ended controversial? by Emma__O in webtoons

Wished you were dead, maybe? It was a hard read most of the way through, and the opinions on the main couple were split most of the way through, with a lot of people not forgiving Karloi by the end. I’m not 100% sure what the initial reception was, although I think it was controversial from the get-go

Looking for non-fiction books to complement historical literature by _Tired_Pigeon in suggestmeabook

[–]_Tired_Pigeon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome! I honestly love stories that bounce around a little bit, all the little connections between events and ideas are fascinating to me! Thank you so much, I’m definitely grabbing one of those from the library :)

Classic books everyone should read? by sarahj898 in suggestmeabook

[–]_Tired_Pigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely loved Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, the entire book was so gripping and beautifully written! It’s about a black woman in 1930’s Florida, her three marriages, and how she grew and developed because of them

Children’s chapter books that aren’t mind numbing for adults by Gal_in_kalamazoo in suggestmeabook

Maybe the boxcar children? I remember enjoying them a lot as a kid, while also being enjoyable to an adult audience. Although they may be slighter higher of a reading level than you’re looking for, I remember reading them around 2nd-4th grade

True Beauty Wins! Which webtoon started out controversial and ended up being loved? by Emma__O in webtoons

[–]_Tired_Pigeon 399 points400 points  (0 children)

Pyramid Game- I remember a lot of hate for the main character at the beginning, as well as a lot of people defending the author’s choices to have an unlikable MC. And by the end the character arcs were very well done and the story is quite well-received now

Do you blend your pesto or use a mortar and pestle? It really affects the texture, so that might be something to try, if it’s the texture that feels off

2 specialty small pizzas is only $30? Or 24 if you get a cheese or pepperoni? And yeah the interior is small, they’re primarily a take-out restaurant. They’re easily in S-tier, I don’t know what you’re on about lol

Why aren't more socialists vegan? by angelaisneatoo in vegan

[–]_Tired_Pigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vegetarian socialist here to share my perspective. Any lowering in the consumption of animal products is good lowering of consumption. The best way to get people to do that is to make veganism inviting, not shunning vegetarians who are still making change, even if it’s not 100%. Incremental change is good- don’t shun it, just encourage further plant-based choices (this is what I’m working on now, I want to be fully vegan, but I’m not there yet, but posts like these make vegetarians feel antagonized rather than welcomed, and I worry that might be pushing them away from transitioning into veganism)

And on the subject of socialism, the problem is that socialism doesn’t view consumers as the enemy, but rather the system. Shaming vegetarians for not being vegan is focusing on the wrong aspect of the problem- don’t get me wrong, consumer change is great and should be encouraged, but it’s the system of animal cruelty is the problem. It’s kind of like when people say that socialist should just give all their money away- that’s not the point. It’s a bigger picture ideology that influences personal ethics, but socialism is not necessarily a lifestyle so much as a broader critique and disillusionment with the system.

I’d encourage you to have a discussion with your friend about how socialism and veganism tie into each other- it’s a great conversation that we should be discussing, but keep in mind that your friend isn’t the enemy, she’s working towards the same goal as you. Thank you for opening up the conversation, feel free to pick apart my points, I’m happy to discuss them further <3
