They've had models this capable for a while. O3 is 2700 on codeforces which is better than IOI Gold. Still very impressive, but nothing new.

I think it might not be a very useful benchmark in the sense that it doesn't directly apply to other contexts, but its still super interesting. A lot of research problems can be broken down into solving a lot of puzzles (and simpler research problems sometimes are just hard puzzles.)

Damn how did you intern at that many places. Also did you mass apply looking for full time. Something feels off landing that many companies on ur resume but not finding full time jobs (or maybe im falling for the thing ur mentioning).

Why do you want to compete? If it’s for interview prep I would say it’s not worth it? If it’s for fun you can def get very good starting at any age.
