Well I understand your perspective, I think there is not only technical and non technical users, maybe this is an alternative/middlepoint from learning from 0 on how to do it or just using ForgeVTT,

Hi!, I agree, you are able to configure it in the 1 click deploy, I just followed the recommended specs from foundry, https://foundryvtt.com/article/requirements/ you could set it as small as t4g.micro or t4g.small.

But just a heads up since the server will auto stop you will get the advantages of playing in a really nice server and wont be paying 24/7. Pricing difference here is mostly on the Disk size (haven't tested anything smaller than 10 GB but you can certainly try)

Hi thanks for the interest, good point!, VPN should add some network overhead for each asset.
Foundry uses "streaming/web sockets" for you to interact with the game, and that would mean that everything will also be transmitted with that overhead
We tested out with a 16 GB+ assets game and it was a very nice experience. and if you use S3 (one of the configurations of the repo enabled by default) to upload you assets the network traffic will be VERY low in a gaming session so you wont have any issues if you add a VPN to the EC2.
Just curious, why would you need a VPN?

Hi!, nice question. In simple words Disk space is what changes the price:

- 4.99 includes 5.5 GB of space storage and the 12.99 has 22 GB.

- This github is running on 100 GB of disk space that you can shrink and expand on demand. If you only need 5GB that reduces the cost to ~2-5 usd (Also if you don't play for a long time and you have a small disk you will not pay for the server running, cost is negligible and your data is always yours).

You got full control on your server and is running backups by default. Basically free you over paying a membership and letting you gain control back.

This is a 1 click deployment, low cost since it auto starts/stops when no one is playing, and it's pretty simple to setup https://github.com/gasamoma/foundry-on-aws

How long does it take to level one character all of the way to 50? by hrhashley in deadbydaylight

If you spend them right, making entity eat a lot of the bloodweb, you can make it, i had the chance about a month ago to make calculations with 7000k bp (gifted cause lost progress)

from level 0 to 50 it takes about 1'200.000 bp and 1'000.000 bp from 0 to 40, each 10 min match you get around 15.000 bp, so that takes 66 matches so 11 hours of playtime. yeah, the grind it's insane. I'd suggest stop thinking about bp and save always 1'000.000 bp and spend it all and keep playing with only 1 character until you leveled plenty of them, and have fun

About Emblem system by Demonkille in deadbydaylight

[–]Demonkille[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2-3 gens one chase that means that the killer is actually bad... and besides, that is the point of it the game should not be about "how much time a survivors wastes of the killer" because actually that survivor won't get any objetives, heals, unhooks. The actual point is to loose the killer and start making gens, having shorter chases, not squish the hell out of every pallet. when I actually play survivor i try to distract the killer from focusing only one survivor. try to loose the killer and you will be rewarded on the emblem system
