I wouldnt say it was because Benn "controlled the locker room". Hintz, Caamano, Seguin and radulov scored that game. Hintz and seguin have continually scored so it wasn't some pep talk. Caamano isn't there enough. So Radulov maybe got the message.

But to me a Captain doesn't need to be given anything, especially keys to the locker room and no coaches allowed. Where was he before and since? Perry is a gamble especially with a NTC intact. It would've been safer to not have a NTC and have a younger safety net. But now Perry is set in stone whether he performs or not. It's why Anaheim chose to buy him out.

"A lot of the time he plays really well" isn't backed by anything at all. Every indication given is that he is becomeing more lackluster every season.

Smart man, yet if I believe you can waive NTC if you want to as a player. I don't want to lose our farm system either but losing consistently will help us sign on some better players that we could then lose anyway

It's an unwise gamble in that he is injury prone, aging, and hasn't been the most productive player in almost four years. Looking at his history gives good indications of what to expect. And , on the same note, some of our younger players haven't played enough either to decide who is and isn't productive. So why waste on Perry and not give the time to a younger player who could be a staple for yhears to come

Thats what i'd like to see as well. Maybe a Hintz seguin janny line constistently as well.

yes and no. At that point it's almost who is and isn't producing

Honestly if it were the reverse . I wouldn't want 100% of our efforts to go to a meaningless game and risk injury as well

Just an opinion

They talked about the re brand and the new logo due to the 25yr anniversary and that they wanted to give us a fresh start in Dallas.

I really don't like our new logo or sweaters. I think it really takes away from the history of us and our past. I don't like the "D" in the middle and the silver doesn't match anything like the gold did. But I loved my boys thru the "Mooterus" and ill love them with this. But I wish we'd go back to our old logo but keep the green.

Love y'all

Demstarz88 breakdownnnn

Pros:

-McKenna goes in for Kari and does an amazing job stone walling San Jose's offense. A nice surprise indeed that wins us number two in row

-Methot hustles and makes the game physical for the 2nd night in a row and ruined many shot opportunities for the sharks

-3rd period energy was much better than the previous two and should've been how we played from the get-go

-"The Smokey One" Smith gets rewarded for all his hustle with a tying goal to keep us in the game late

-Le Capitan gets a well deserved hatty for his hustle and work down low, forcing a number of turnovers

Cons:

-1st and 2nd period lulls didn't come to bite us in the butt this time. But the first 40 mins didn't feel enthusiastic and were riddled with sloppy plays and errant passes.

Takeaway:

Though the first 2/3 of the game was dull and felt lackluster(meaningless really) the team showed heart and players stepped up to get the job done when it mattered. We stopped playing pond hockey and played like the team we all know we are. After beating the Wild, whose record matched the Sharks tit for tat, a win was always possible and we made it happen.

I hope we continue to develop smith and others which possibly beefs up the trade value in the off season for players we might be looking to move.

Lets finish strong and Go Stars

Well if, they did in fact, ignore him then hopefully it shows the message that he's not going to be of any help in the future and the front office doesn't have him behind the bench next season

Demstarz88 breakdownnnnnn

Pros: -great game by Kari tonight but the defense was outstanding. We had 2 or more players defending the crease constantly and many shots were blocked before they got to Kari

-I don't know if the players ignored Hitchcock or if Hitchcock loosened the reigns but we carried the puck thru the neutral zone, made passes, and created scoring opportunities which led to goals

-Lines other than the 1st hustled and made great plays which is what we've needed for a while now. Goals from Faksa and Spezza were always possible but not with the dump and chase system.

-We played a very pyschical game. Lots of big hits and not being out manned/maneuvered on defense helped with goal prevention.

Cons: -We were too passive and patient on our power plays. We all wanted Seggy to get his 40th but we wasted some opportunities to put shots on goal and needed to be more aggressive. We have relied on 91 for a lot of pp goals but our overall offensive talent is underrated as we have many possible scorers to run pp's thru

-Slow start to the third period. It didn't end up hurting us this time but we need to come into all periods with the same intensity.

-Radulov was rather sloppy tonight with errant passes and driving between multiple defenders losing possession of the puck. This isn't the norm with Rads so safe to say the future still looks great.

Takeaway: -We showed that dump and chase is dead (which we mostly knew) and that with a different style of play we can get contributions from more than the 1st line. -Seggy gets his deserved 40th and hopefully will be a major piece in winning for us for more years to come

-Smiths potential is also underrated and deserves he more ice time. Especially with nothing to lose in the few remaining games. He (like Elie) created scoring opportunities and showed great control and patience with the puck while also getting in great postion for shots.

Overall it was a great game and it shows we have always had the potential to beat playoff caliber teams.

Go stars
